CEDIA Expo 2026 gave anyone planning a Crestron project in Dublin or Cork something practical: a dated list of what Crestron is bringing out between now and early 2027. This planner puts those dates in order, says what each release needs, and shows where it fits a self build, a house you already live in or an office.
What happened at CEDIA Expo 2026
The show is the home technology trade's yearly gathering in the United States, and in 2026 it was held in Denver in the first week of September. Crestron used it to preview its plans for the last quarter of the year. Residential Systems published the list on 10 September 2026, with a status or an expected month against each item and no prices.
Crestron also came away with two prizes from the CEDIA Smart Home Awards held during the show. In the list of winners CE Pro printed on 8 September 2026, Configure Pro sits among three Best New Software winners and the Cevo Mini Remote among eleven Best New Hardware winners. On 3 September, during the show, Crestron named the winners of its own Crestron Home Technology Awards, which go to integrators in eight categories.
The Crestron calendar, month by month
The months for October and November are the ones Residential Systems lists as expected, so treat them as plans, not promises. Early 2027 comes from CE Pro.

|---|---|---|---|
| June 2026 | Configure Pro, the new setup platform, launched with Crestron Home 4.11 | A CP4-R (Version 2), MC4-R (Version 2) or DIN-AP4-R processor | Configure Pro |
| September 2026 | Crestron Home OS 4.12, announced on 22 September, brings Multiview | OS 4.12 and DM-NVX-384 or DM-NVX-385 hardware, which CE Pro calls the foundation for Multiview | Multiview |
| October 2026 | The 15 inch TSW-1580 touch screen, presented by Crestron on 2 October | OS 4.12 and a PoE+ network port at the wall | TSW-1580 |
| October 2026 | The DM NVX 370 Series, announced on 6 October | A DM NVX video system, mostly in offices and venues | DM NVX 370 |
| October 2026 (expected) | The DIN-8SWU8 and DIN-4DIMU4 lighting modules | OS 4.12 and space on the DIN rail | DIN modules |
| November 2026 (expected) | The refreshed roller shade fabric collection | Nothing in the system, only a choice of fabric | Crestron shades |
| Early 2027 | An AI assisted mode inside Configure Pro | An installer who works in Configure Pro | See below |
If you are building or renovating
A self build or a deep retrofit gains most from this calendar, because the decisions are still open.
- The lighting panel. Residential Systems calls the DIN-8SWU8 switch and the DIN-4DIMU4 dimmer "two next-generation DIN Rail modules engineered for the LED era". If your panel is being drawn this winter, ask us to lay it out so that either generation of module fits. On 9 October 2026 we had seen no launch announcement from Crestron for them. The lighting control section of our Crestron shop shows what can be supplied today.
- Touch screen positions. Residential Systems describes the 15 inch model as "Crestron's largest residential touchscreen yet". Crestron's catalogue says the TSW-1580 is only compatible with PoE+, so a data cable to each screen position should go in at first fix, back to a switch that can power it. Our first fix wiring guide covers the rest of the cabling, and the touch screens and remotes page lists the current range.
- Blinds. The fabric refresh brings a sample set covering 222 fabric options, 58 of them new, according to Residential Systems. If the blinds will not be ordered until 2027, wait for the new samples before you settle on a fabric. See shades and drapery.
- The bathroom. CE Pro's report on the trends of the show, published on 10 September 2026, says Kohler's Anthem+ smart shower now connects directly into platforms including Crestron. Tell us before the plumber starts if you want the shower on the system.
One caution. Crestron Home OS 4.12 also supports a Cameo dual dimmer, but no voltage or ship date has been published for it, so we would not design a house here around it yet.
If you already have a Crestron system
The question that decides everything is which processor runs the house. Crestron Home 4.11 and later runs on the CP4-R (Version 2), the MC4-R (Version 2) and the DIN-AP4-R. For Version 1 CP4-R and MC4-R hardware, Crestron's manual gives 4.07 as the final feature update, so those systems stay as they are until the processor is changed. Our Dublin Crestron upgrade post shows what moving an older system to Crestron Home involves.
With a current processor, the 4.12 update opens up Multiview and the 15 inch screen. The Cevo Mini Remote, which was announced in September 2025 and won at this year's show, is another addition for a TV room; Crestron's catalogue says it is only compatible with Crestron Home on Version 2 hardware.
An update or an addition means a visit. Our rates are on the installation page: a 4 hour visit is €440 plus VAT, and extra time or remote support is €110 an hour plus VAT. Systems on a 1Install Care plan can raise it through their plan. For a wider budget, see what a smart home costs.
If you run an office
Crestron's commercial news came in the weeks after the show. The DM NVX 370 Series, announced on 6 October 2026, is built on a chip Crestron designed itself, and Crestron's press release says the new units are available now; the AV over IP section of the shop has the DM NVX range we supply. Multiview also has a workplace use, covered in our post on DM NVX Multiview for business. And Crestron's article of 18 September 2026 on practical AI is the subject of our post on meeting room AI.
Looking ahead to 2027: AI in the setup
CE Pro reports that Crestron previewed an AI assisted mode inside Configure Pro, arriving in early 2027, and that Crestron says it is being trained on "decades of data and beta user feedback". It is a tool for the installer, not an assistant in your kitchen.
On a panel at the show, reported by CE Pro on 16 September 2026, Crestron's Michael Short described uploading an architect's floor plan of a large house, after which "the system then automatically builds all the rooms". CE Pro does not name the product he was describing. If it works as described, the benefit to a client is time: less of the early setup done by hand, and more attention on how the house should behave.
What to do in the next six months
- Find out what you have. Processor model and OS version, for an existing system.
- Fix the cable routes. For a build, agree screen positions, the panel location and blind power before first fix.
- Leave the late choices late. Fabrics and the exact lighting modules can wait for Crestron's expected October and November releases.
- Ask about supply. None of the sources gives local prices or delivery dates, so we check each item when we quote.
1Install is a Crestron Elite Partner, and our founder, Kieran McGuire, holds every Crestron certification. We design, install and support Crestron from our offices as a Crestron installer in Dublin and a Crestron installer in Cork.
