Crestron's DM NVX Multiview lets one screen show up to six video sources at once, in 18 layouts, over a standard gigabit network. For businesses in Dublin and Cork it turns a single large display into a meeting room wall, a sports bar screen or a control room monitor, without a separate video processor.
Earlier today we wrote about Multiview arriving in Crestron Home for homes. This post is about the business side: meeting rooms and lecture theatres, bars and hotels, control rooms and courtrooms, where DM NVX Multiview has been available since Crestron announced it in July 2025.
What DM NVX Multiview does
DM NVX is Crestron's AV over IP system. Each source, such as a laptop input, a camera, a media player or a TV box, is connected to a DM NVX encoder, and each screen has a DM NVX decoder, with the video travelling over the building's network. Multiview adds one thing that used to need a separate processor: the decoder behind the screen can combine up to six sources into one picture.

- Built by the DM-NVX-384 behind the screen, which also supports 5K displays.
- No added delay: Crestron says Multiview adds no latency, which matters for live cameras and presenters.
- Share the layout: Crestron says the combined picture can also be decoded by any DM NVX 4K receiver, so the same layout can appear on other screens in the building.
On screen options that suit business
This is where DM NVX Multiview goes further than a simple split screen. Each layout can carry:
- Text labels in your own colours, so each picture is named, for example "Main stage", "Remote site" or "Camera 2".
- Coloured borders around a picture, useful for showing which feed is live or whose sound you are hearing.
- Background colour and transparency settings, so the layout looks tidy and on brand.
- Transitions such as fades, zooms and wipes when the layout changes, for a more polished result in presentations and events.
Sound is handled separately from the picture. Audio can follow the picture you select or the highlighted border, and DM NVX carries multichannel sound, including 5.1 surround, over the same gigabit network.
Where it earns its place
Crestron designed Multiview for any room that needs several feeds on one large display. The settings it mentions include courtrooms, sports bars, command and control centres and large lecture halls with panel discussions. In practice, that looks like this:
- Lecture theatres and conference rooms: the slides, a camera on each panellist and a remote contributor, all on one screen, labelled.
- Bars, hotels and clubs: several matches on one big screen, each with its name on it, and the sound from the game most people are watching.
- Control and security rooms: camera feeds, a building management screen and the news, arranged to suit the operator.
- Courtrooms and council chambers: evidence, a video link and room cameras side by side.
- Meeting rooms and receptions: a presentation beside a live feed, or company content beside a news channel.
What you need
DM NVX Multiview runs on a standard 1 gigabit network, and Crestron says existing DM NVX systems can use it without new switches or network equipment. The screen that shows the layout needs a DM-NVX-384, and each source needs a DM NVX encoder, such as a DM-NVX-360. You can see the rest of the range in our Crestron AV over IP shop.
Layouts are usually recalled from the room's Crestron control system, so staff choose "Match day", "Panel" or "Presentation" on a touch panel rather than touching any settings. The network still needs to be designed for AV: managed switches set up for video, enough capacity and tidy, labelled cabling.

Questions we are often asked
Can we use DM NVX Multiview with the DM NVX system we already have?
Usually, yes. Crestron says existing DM NVX systems can use Multiview without new switches or network equipment. The screen showing the layout needs a DM-NVX-384, and we check your encoders and firmware at the survey.
How many sources can one screen show?
Up to six at once. There are 18 preset layouts, from picture in picture to a six way split.
Does Multiview add delay to cameras or presenters?
Crestron says it adds no latency, which is why it suits live cameras, panel discussions and control rooms.
Can the same layout appear on more than one screen?

What network do we need?
