Crestron has added Multiview to Crestron Home. With the latest update, one TV can show up to six video sources at once, in 18 ready made layouts, and you switch between them from a touch screen or the Crestron Home app. For Crestron homes in Dublin and Cork, it turns the main TV into a sports wall, a security screen or a family screen at the touch of a button.
Multiview arrived in Crestron Home OS 4.12 in September 2026 and works with Crestron's DM NVX video distribution. Below we explain what it does, what your system needs, and how we add it to new and existing Crestron homes.
What is Crestron Multiview?
Multiview combines several video sources into one picture on one screen. Instead of flicking between inputs, you see them together: a main picture with a smaller one in the corner, two pictures side by side, a quad view with four, or layouts with up to six sources. Crestron provides 18 layouts in total, and each one can be saved and recalled like a lighting scene.
The picture is put together by the DM NVX endpoint behind the TV, not by the TV, so it works on any screen with an HDMI input. Video is carried at up to 4K60, and you choose which picture you hear. Tap another picture and the sound follows it.
What you can do with it
- Sport: two or three matches side by side on a busy weekend, with the sound on whichever game matters most.
- Security: keep the front gate or driveway camera in a corner of the screen while you watch a film, so you can see who has arrived without pausing.
- Family viewing: the news on one half and a games console or streaming box on the other.
- Mornings: a workout video, the news and the garden camera together on the kitchen TV.
Because layouts are scenes in Crestron Home, they can also be part of a bigger scene. A single "Match day" button can dim the lights, lower the blinds and turn on the TV in a four picture layout.
What your system needs
Crestron Home OS 4.12
Multiview is part of Crestron Home OS 4.12. The same update adds support for Crestron's new 15 inch 80 Series touch screen and the Cameo dual dimmer. We can check which version your processor is running and plan the update with you.
DM NVX at the screen
Multiview needs a DM-NVX-384 or a DM-NVX-385 behind the TV, with your sources, such as TV boxes, streaming players, games consoles and camera recorders, connected to the DM NVX system. DM NVX sends video over the home network, so every source in the rack can reach every screen in the house.
The DM-NVX-385 is the residential version. It carries 7.1 surround sound, including Dolby Atmos and DTS:X soundtracks, and can downmix surround sound to stereo, so the same source can feed a cinema room and a kitchen with a simple pair of speakers.
A good network
Crestron says a standard 1 gigabit network is all DM NVX Multiview needs. It still has to be the right network: managed switches set up for AV, proper cabling to each screen and enough capacity in the rack. We check this at the survey rather than assume it.
Configured, not custom programmed
Multiview is set up in Crestron's Configure Pro, the professional tool for Crestron Home, so there is no custom programming. That keeps the cost down and means the layouts can be changed later without rewriting anything.
Already have Crestron Home?
If your home already runs Crestron Home with DM NVX, adding Multiview is usually an update and, where needed, a DM-NVX-384 or DM-NVX-385 at the screens where you want it. Planning a new build or renovation?
Multiview is easiest to plan from the start. We allow a network cable and a DM NVX endpoint behind each main screen, bring the sources back to one rack, and design the TV positions around how the family watches. It fits naturally with a home cinema in Dublin or a media room in Cork, and with whole house audio.

Questions we are often asked
Does Multiview work on any TV?
Yes, as long as the TV has an HDMI input. The layout is created by the DM-NVX-384 or DM-NVX-385 behind the screen, so the TV simply shows one picture.
How many sources can I watch at once?
Up to six, depending on the layout. Crestron provides 18 layouts, from picture in picture and side by side to quad view and six pictures.
Can I hear all the sources at the same time?
You hear one at a time, which is what you want in practice. Choose the picture you want to hear on the touch screen or in the app and the sound switches to it.
Can I add Multiview to my existing Crestron system?
If you have Crestron Home and DM NVX, usually yes: the system is updated to OS 4.12 and a DM-NVX-384 or DM-NVX-385 is fitted at each screen that needs it. Older systems need a survey first.
Do I need a new network?
Not always. DM NVX Multiview runs on a standard 1 gigabit network, but the switches must be set up for AV. We check your network at the survey and tell you if anything needs to change.
How much does it cost?
It depends on how many screens and sources you have and what is already installed. The survey is €440 plus VAT for up to 4 hours, and you then get a fixed price proposal. Our smart home cost guide explains how we price projects.
