Crestron has added a 15 inch model to its 80 Series touch screens: the TSW-1580, its largest panel in the range so far. For homes and offices in Dublin and Cork it means one big, easy to read screen for lighting, heating, blinds, music and AV, wherever a smaller panel would feel cramped.
Crestron announced the TSW-1580 on its blog on 2 October 2026. Until now the 80 Series came in 8 and 10 inch sizes, launched in January. The new panel sits above them and shares their design, but gives everything on the screen far more room. Below we explain what Crestron has said about it, where a screen this size makes sense in an Irish home or workplace, and what to plan if you would like one.
What Crestron has announced
The TSW-1580 is a wall mounted touch screen with a 15 inch high resolution capacitive display. According to Crestron it runs on the company's fastest processor yet and is built on the Microsoft Device Ecosystem Platform, known as MDEP. The main points from the announcement are:
- Proximity wake. A radar sensor wakes the screen as someone approaches, so it is ready before a finger reaches it.
- Automatic brightness. An ambient light sensor adjusts the display to suit the room, bright on a sunny afternoon and dim late at night.
- Far field microphones are built in.
- One cable. The panel is powered over the network cable (PoE), and it supports both wired Ethernet and Wi-Fi.
- Two finishes, black and white.
- Flexible mounting. It goes on the wall, and Crestron lists fixed and tilting tabletop kits and VESA mounting as options.
- Managed centrally. Panels can be provisioned and managed through Crestron's XiO Cloud service, with 802.1X network authentication and Active Directory support for corporate networks.
Crestron describes the panel as suited to lecture halls, boardrooms, large classrooms and control rooms, and to selected residential projects. The full announcement is on the Crestron blog.
Does it work with Crestron Home?
Yes. Crestron Home OS 4.12, released on 22 September 2026, added support for the TSW-1580 as a 15 inch wall mounted touch screen. That same release brought Multiview to Crestron Home, which we covered in our Multiview post. So a home running an up to date Crestron Home processor can add the new panel alongside its existing screens and keypads, and it shows the same rooms, scenes and controls as the rest of the system.
If your system is on an older version, the processor needs updating first. That is a quick job for us on a supported system, and it is part of what our 1Install Care plans cover.
When will it be available?
Crestron's announcement does not give a shipping date. The trade magazine Residential Systems, in its preview of Crestron's autumn products, listed the 15 inch model as expected in October 2026. We will confirm lead times for Ireland when you ask for a quote. The 8 and 10 inch models are already in our shop as the TSW-880 and TSW-1080.
Where a 15 inch screen earns its place at home
Most rooms are well served by a keypad or an 8 inch screen. A 15 inch panel is for the places where a household gathers and several things are controlled at once:
- The kitchen. In a big open plan kitchen and living space it can show lighting, blinds, music, the front door camera and heating together, readable from the island.
- The entrance hall. One screen by the front door to set the whole house to "away" or "welcome home", check which rooms are lit and see who is at the gate.
- The cinema or media room lobby. Larger buttons are easier to use in low light, which suits a home cinema or games room.
- Accessibility. Residential Systems notes that the larger screen lets controls be shown bigger. That helps older family members, anyone with less steady hands and visitors who do not know the system.
And at work
The TSW-1580 is aimed first at commercial rooms. In a boardroom or training room one screen can start a Teams call, switch sources, dim the lights and lower the blinds, with no learning curve for visitors. Lecture theatres and large classrooms gain a panel that can be read from a step away. Power over one network cable and remote setup through XiO Cloud also keep installation simple when several rooms are fitted at once. If you are planning meeting rooms, see our Teams Rooms installation in Dublin page.
What to plan before fitting one
| Item | What we check |
|---|---|
| Network point | A data cable to the panel position, run back to the network switch. With PoE this one cable carries power too. |
| Switch capacity | A PoE switch with enough power budget for the panel and everything else on it. |
| Wall position | Height, sight lines, glare from windows and room for a back box or mounting kit. |
| System version | Crestron Home 4.12 or later on the processor, or a current programme on a custom system. |
| Finish | Black or white, chosen to suit the wall and the other panels in the house. |
In a new build or renovation, the cable is the part to get right at first fix. If you are adding a panel to a finished house, we can often reuse an existing data point or run one discreetly, and Wi-Fi is there as a fallback where a cable truly cannot go.

Questions we are often asked
Can I add a TSW-1580 to my existing Crestron Home system?
Yes, as long as the processor is on Crestron Home 4.12 or later, the release that added support for it. We update the processor first if needed, then add the panel to the rooms and scenes you already use.
Does the 15 inch panel replace my keypads?
No. Keypads remain the quickest way to set a scene as you enter a room. The large panel works best in one or two central places, such as the kitchen or hall, alongside keypads elsewhere.
Does it need a mains socket behind it?
No. Crestron says it is powered over the network cable (PoE), so a single data cable carries both power and data. It also supports Wi-Fi.
Can it be used on a table rather than a wall?
Crestron lists fixed and tilting tabletop kits as accessories, which suits a boardroom table or a desk in a home office.
Which finishes are there?
Black and white, the same as the rest of the 80 Series.
How much does it cost to fit one?
That depends on the cable route and the work needed on your system, so we price each job after a survey. Our smart home cost guide explains how our visits are charged.
