About the Crestron USB-EXT-2-REMOTE

The Remote unit connects directly to the Link port of a USB-EXT-2-LOCAL over a single run of solid-core CAT5e or better unshielded twisted pair. Its two USB Type A ports take devices such as keyboards and mice, and a chain can include up to four USB hubs (not included), for up to 30 devices, or 26 devices when four hubs are used.

Throughput is up to 480 Mbps for USB 2.0 and 12 Mbps for USB 1.1, with Mass Storage Acceleration for USB 2.0 bulk transfers. Mass storage and isochronous devices are supported. The extension is plug-and-play, with no configuration, programming or drivers needed on Windows, macOS or Linux hosts.

The 100 to 240 VAC power supply is included with the Remote unit, outputs 1 A at 24 VDC and powers both ends from either location. The Remote supplies up to 1 A to each USB port, with 1.5 A in total. It measures 26 mm high without feet, 75 mm wide and 87 mm deep, with four slots for wire ties or mounting hardware.

How much power do the USB ports provide?

Each of the two USB Type A ports supplies up to 1 A, with a maximum of 1.5 A across both ports. More devices can be added with up to four USB hubs (not included), up to 30 devices in total, or 26 when four hubs are used.

Can the USB-EXT-2-REMOTE work with the wall plate models?
