About the Crestron USB-EXT-2-LOCAL

The Local unit has a USB Type B port that connects to the host, such as a computer, media server, game console, annotator or codec, and an RJ45 Link port that connects directly to a Remote unit. The Remote end provides two USB Type A ports for keyboards, mice and other devices. No configuration, programming or drivers are needed with Windows, macOS or Linux.

The link runs over solid-core CAT5e or better unshielded twisted pair at up to 480 Mbps for USB 2.0 and 12 Mbps for USB 1.1. Mass storage and isochronous devices are supported, and Mass Storage Acceleration helps USB 2.0 bulk transfers. A chain can include up to four USB hubs (not included), for 30 devices, or 26 devices with four hubs.

The Local unit is USB powered via the host interface and also has a 24 VDC input. The 100 to 240 VAC power supply for the pair comes with the Remote unit and can be connected at either end. The unit measures 26 mm high without feet, 75 mm wide and 87 mm deep, and it is compatible with the USB-EXT-2-LOCAL-1G and USB-EXT-2-REMOTE-1G wall plates.
