About the Crestron USB-EXT-2-LOCAL-1G

A USB Type B port on the plate connects to the host, such as a computer, media server, game console, annotator or codec, and the Link connection runs to the Remote plate, where two USB Type A ports take keyboards, mice and other devices. The extension is plug-and-play, with no configuration, programming or drivers needed on Windows, macOS or Linux.

The link uses solid-core CAT5e or better shielded twisted pair (STP) and carries USB 2.0 at up to 480 Mbps and USB 1.1 at up to 12 Mbps. Mass storage and isochronous devices are supported, with Mass Storage Acceleration for USB 2.0 bulk transfers. A chain can include up to four USB hubs, for 30 devices, or 26 devices with four hubs.

The Local plate is USB powered via the host interface and has a 24 VDC input on a 2-pin terminal block. The PW-2407WUL power supply for the pair comes with the Remote plate, and an optional ferrite bead is provided to reduce interference. The plate measures 105 mm high, 44 mm wide and 50 mm deep, and this page covers the black and white versions.
