Crestron SFP-1G-BX-D Single-Mode SFP Module for DM-NVX, Downlink

It is an SFP transceiver module that adds fibre optic network connectivity to a DM NVX series encoder/decoder. It is a 1000BASE-BX10 downlink module for simplex single-mode fibre, using a single LC connector and rated up to 10 km (6.2 mi).

The -D suffix denotes a downlink transceiver and the -U an uplink. Crestron says the uplink is typically fitted at the DM-NVX device and the downlink at the switch, although the reverse will work. Two uplinks or two downlinks cannot be connected to each other, so each link needs one of each.

It uses simplex single-mode fibre per ITU-T Rec. G.652, with a single LC connector, so the link needs only one fibre. Crestron's table lists the wavelength as 1490 nm and the maximum distance as 10 km (6.2 mi).

Crestron's table lists the SFP-1G-BX-D in purple, while the SFP-1G-BX-U and SFP-1G-LX are listed in blue. It also has a single LC connector, where the SFP-1G-SX and SFP-1G-LX use dual LC connectors. Check the part number on the module to be sure.

Yes. The SFP-1G series modules are hot-swappable to minimise downtime. The SFP-1G-BX-D supports 1000BASE-X Gigabit Ethernet for DigitalMedia NVX series boxes and cards, and it should face an uplink module at the other end of the fibre.

Yes. 1Install is an authorised Crestron Elite Partner with offices in Skerries, Co. Dublin and Cork. We can supply the SFP-1G-BX-D on its own, or install, set up and programme it as part of your system. Installation visits are €440 for 4 hours or €880 for a full day, plus VAT and travel.
