About the Crestron DM-NUX-R2

The DM-NUX-R2 has USB Type A host ports for USB devices such as mice, keyboards and other peripherals, and can be expanded with USB hubs (not included). Its RJ-45 Link port connects to an Ethernet network or directly to the Link port on a local endpoint over CAT5e or better cable. USB 2.0 runs at up to 480 Mbps depending on network speed and quality, and USB 1.1 at up to 12 Mbps.

In a DigitalMedia system, DM NUX endpoints route USB alongside video and audio and can connect directly to a DM transmitter, DM receiver or the network, with routing controlled by a Crestron control system or DigitalMedia system. Virtual Hub support allows up to five DM-NUX-R2 endpoints to be used together. It is also compatible with the DM NUX wall plates and with DM NVX endpoints that support USB 2.0 extension.

Power comes from the included PW-2407WU power pack (100 to 240 VAC in, 24 VDC out). It is plug-and-play with most USB 1.1 and 2.0 devices and hosts, with no drivers needed for Windows, macOS or Linux, and a signal chain can include up to 30 USB devices, or four hubs with 26 devices. The unit is freestanding or surface mounted with the included bracket, and measures 26 mm high, 100 mm wide and 76 mm deep.

How is the DM-NUX-R2 powered?

It is powered by the PW-2407WU power pack, which is included. The power pack takes 100 to 240 VAC and supplies 24 VDC to the unit's 2.1 x 5.5 mm DC power connector. A blue Power LED shows when operating power is supplied by the power supply.

What is the difference between the DM-NUX-R2 and the DM-NUX-L2?

The DM-NUX-R2 is the remote endpoint, with USB Type A host ports for USB devices, and it is powered by an included PW-2407WU power pack. The DM-NUX-L2 is the local endpoint, which connects to the USB host through a USB Type B port and is powered from that USB connection.

Can USB hubs be used with the DM-NUX-R2?

Yes. Any signal chain can include up to four USB hubs, which are not included, plus one DM-NUX-L2 and one DM-NUX-R2. The maximum is 30 USB devices, or four hubs with 26 devices. It is plug-and-play with most USB 1.1 and 2.0 devices.

Does it work with DM NVX?

Yes. Crestron lists the DM NUX endpoints as compatible with DM NVX endpoints that support USB 2.0 signal extension, and with the DM NUX wall plates (DM-NUX-L2-1G and DM-NUX-R2-1G). In a DigitalMedia system, USB can be routed alongside video and audio.

Yes. Everything we supply is new, genuine Crestron with Crestron's standard warranty. If the DM-NUX-R2 develops a fault, contact us and we will handle the claim with Crestron. If we installed it, our workmanship is guaranteed for the lifetime of the system.
