About the Crestron DM-NUX-L2

The DM-NUX-L2 connects to the USB host, such as a computer or media server, through its USB Type B port (a USB B to A cable is included) and draws its power from that USB connection. Its RJ-45 Link port connects to an Ethernet network or directly to a remote endpoint. USB 2.0 runs at up to 480 Mbps depending on network speed and quality, and Mass Storage Acceleration speeds up USB 2.0 bulk transfers.

With a DigitalMedia system, DM NUX routes USB alongside video and audio, and endpoints can connect directly to a DM transmitter, DM receiver or the network. Routing is under the control of a Crestron control system or DigitalMedia system, and Virtual Hub support lets up to five DM-NUX-R2 endpoints be connected at the same time. It is also compatible with the DM-NUX-L2-1G and DM-NUX-R2-1G wall plates and with DM NVX endpoints that support USB 2.0 extension.

It is plug-and-play with most USB 1.1 and 2.0 devices and hosts, with no drivers needed for Windows, macOS or Linux. A signal chain can include up to four USB hubs plus one DM-NUX-L2 and one DM-NUX-R2, with up to 30 USB devices, or four hubs with 26 devices. The compact unit is freestanding or surface mounted using the included bracket, and measures 26 mm high, 100 mm wide and 76 mm deep.
