About the Crestron DM-NVX-E20

The DM-NVX-E20 takes one HDMI input with Deep Color and 4K60 4:2:0 support, compatible with Dual-Mode DisplayPort and DVI sources. Common resolutions include 4K at 30 Hz 4:4:4, 2560x1600 at 60 Hz and 1080p60 at 4:4:4 12 bit. The bit rate can be fixed between 200 and 950 Mbps or set to adaptive, where the encoder chooses a rate based on the input resolution.

Audio handling covers multichannel sources up to 8-channel LPCM or HBR 7.1 surround, including Dolby Atmos and DTS HD formats, with AES67 embedding and de-embedding and an analogue stereo output whose volume adjusts from -80 to +20 dB. For device control it has 2-way RS-232 at up to 115.2k baud and 1-way IR or serial via a control system, and the HDMI port supports CEC.

Power is PoE (IEEE 802.3af Type 1 Class 3) from an 802.3af compliant switch or PSE, or the optional PW-2407WU power pack, with 8.6 W typical consumption. The black metal chassis is 128 mm high, 230 mm wide and 26 mm deep, and includes mounting flanges for freestanding, surface or single rack rail mounting. Security includes 802.1X, Active Directory credential management, TLS and AES-128 with PKI.

Both are 4K60 4:2:0 DM NVX encoders with one HDMI input and PoE. The DM-NVX-E20 is a compact box with mounting flanges and an analogue audio output. The DM-NVX-E20-2G is a wall plate encoder for a 2-gang electrical box, with an analogue audio input instead, and its faceplate is sold separately.

How is the DM-NVX-E20 powered?

It is powered by PoE (IEEE 802.3af Type 1 Class 3, 12.95 W) from an IEEE 802.3af compliant Ethernet switch or a third-party PoE PSE. The PW-2407WU power pack, sold separately, is an alternative that supplies 0.75 A at 24 VDC. Typical consumption is 8.6 W.

Does the DM-NVX-E20 support HDR or 4K60 4:4:4?

It supports 4K60 at 4:2:0 and 4K30 at 4:4:4, with Deep Color. HDR is not listed in its specifications. Crestron's DM-NVX-E30 encoder handles 4K60 4:4:4 with HDR10, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision if a system needs those formats.
