Home Cinema Installation in Dublin

Home cinema installation in Dublin, from media rooms in Georgian and Victorian houses to private cinemas in new builds, planned so the sound stays in the room and the house keeps its character.

In a period house the room often sets the rules: a ceiling with cornicing that cannot be touched, tall windows and floors that carry sound. We plan the cinema around those details, so the treatment goes where it can and the original features stay as they are.

How we keep sound in a cinema room

In one cinema room we built from the bare walls, a new stud wall holds the sound inside and the ceiling was lowered to improve the acoustics, with fabric over every wall and the speakers lined up behind it. Where a ceiling has to stay as it is, the same thinking moves to the walls, the door and the floor.

See that cinema room from bare walls to finished seats, with nine recliners on a stepped floor.

Working across Dublin

Dublin work often means Georgian and Victorian houses in Ballsbridge, Rathgar and Ranelagh, large new builds in Foxrock and Carrickmines, and coastal homes in Dalkey, Howth and Malahide. Our Dublin engineers cover the whole county and travel into Wicklow, Kildare and Meath every day, so a survey or a support visit is quick to arrange. Recent work nearby includes a Crestron upgrade in Dalkey.

What we can build for you

  • A media room in an existing reception room, with in wall or in ceiling speakers
  • A dedicated cinema with projection, fabric walls and stepped seating
  • Soundproofing and acoustic treatment planned around period features
  • Lighting control and motorised blinds that set the room for a film

Questions we are often asked

Can you put a cinema into a Georgian or Victorian house?

Yes. We work around cornicing, shutters and fireplaces, run the cables where they will not be seen and often hide the speakers in the walls or behind fabric, so the room keeps its character.

How do you stop the sound reaching the bedrooms?

By treating the cinema as a room within the house: a stud wall or acoustic lining where it is needed, well sealed doors and a subwoofer set up so the bass does not travel through the floor. The more the room can change, the quieter the rest of the house stays.
