A cinema room touches carpentry, electrics, acoustics, lighting and AV all at once. When several firms share the job, small gaps appear, such as a speaker cable in the wrong place or a wall finished before the treatment is fixed, so we prefer to carry the whole room ourselves.
One team from bare room to first film
On one of our cinema rooms we did it all. The window was closed in and shelving built where it had been, a stepped floor was framed in timber, the ceiling was lowered and fabric fixed over the walls, and then the speakers, lighting and projector were installed and set up.

Spare rooms, attics, basements and the end of a large living room can all work. We look at the shape of the room, how dark it can be made and where the seats will go, then suggest a media room with a large TV or a cinema room with projection and fabric walls. Either can join multi-room audio and lighting control in the rest of the house.

Do you do the building work as well as the AV?
Yes. On the cinema room shown here our team closed in the window, built the stepped floor and the new wall, lowered the ceiling and fitted the fabric, as well as installing and setting up the equipment.
