About the Crestron DM-NVX-D20

The DM-NVX-D20 decodes streams from DM-NVX-E20 and E10 Series encoders by default, and can also receive from DM NVX 4K60 4:4:4 encoders when they send resolutions the D20 supports. Its HDMI output (DVI compatible) handles Deep Color and 4K60 4:2:0, with common resolutions including 4K at 30 Hz 4:4:4 and 1080p60 4:4:4 at 12 bit. Streams are protected with HDCP 2.3, AES-128 and PKI.

Audio leaves through HDMI and an analogue stereo output, with multichannel formats of up to 8-channel LPCM or HBR 7.1 surround, including Dolby Atmos and DTS HD formats. The analogue output volume adjusts from -80 to +20 dB. AES67 audio can be embedded and de-embedded, and the unit offers 2-way RS-232 at up to 115.2k baud, 1-way IR or serial, and CEC for device control.

Power comes from PoE (IEEE 802.3af Type 1 Class 3) via an IEEE 802.3af compliant Ethernet switch or PoE PSE, or from the optional PW-2407WU power pack, and typical consumption is 8.6 W. The black metal chassis is 128 mm high, 230 mm wide and 26 mm deep, with mounting flanges included for freestanding, surface or single rack rail mounting.

Does the DM-NVX-D20 support 4K60 4:4:4 or HDR?

Its output supports 4K60 at 4:2:0 and 4K30 at 4:4:4, with Deep Color. HDR is not listed in its specifications. For 4K60 4:4:4 HDR decoding, Crestron lists the DM-NVX-D30, which supports HDR10, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision.

How is the DM-NVX-D20 powered?

It is powered by PoE (IEEE 802.3af Type 1 Class 3, 12.95 W) from an IEEE 802.3af compliant Ethernet switch or a third-party PoE PSE. It can also use the PW-2407WU power pack, sold separately, which supplies 0.75 A at 24 VDC. Typical consumption is 8.6 W.

Can the D20 control the display?

Yes. It has 2-way RS-232 for device control and monitoring at up to 115.2k baud, and a 1-way port for IR up to 1.1 MHz or TTL/RS-232 serial up to 19.2k baud, driven via a control system. The HDMI output also supports CEC and EDID.
