About the Crestron CHV-TSTAT-FCU

Relative humidity sensing can be added with an external remote humidity sensor, sold separately, and the thermostat also supports outdoor temperature sensors. Crestron lists the CHVI-RTS-1G-N-W and CHVI-RTS-1G-SM-W remote temperature sensors as compatible with CHV-TSTAT-FCU series thermostats. A backlit LCD and front panel buttons handle setup, configuration, and temperature and humidity adjustments.

Multiple Crestron thermostats can be networked over Cresnet, and connecting the thermostat to a complete Crestron home automation system adds to what it can do, although it also functions on its own. It comes in almond, black and white, so check the finish and part number of the existing unit when ordering a replacement.

What is the difference between the CHV-TSTAT-FCU-A, -B and -W?

They are the same fan-coil thermostat in different finishes: the CHV-TSTAT-FCU-A is almond, the CHV-TSTAT-FCU-B is black and the CHV-TSTAT-FCU-W is white. When replacing a unit, check the part number on the existing thermostat so the finish matches.

Can the CHV-TSTAT-FCU measure humidity?

Relative humidity capability can be added with an external remote humidity sensor, which is sold separately. The thermostat supports remote humidity sensors and outdoor temperature sensors, and its front panel buttons include humidity adjustments.

Which remote temperature sensors work with it?

Crestron lists the CHVI-RTS-1G-N-W wall mount sensor and the CHVI-RTS-1G-SM-W surface mount sensor as compatible with CHV-TSTAT-FCU series thermostats. Both connect over a single twisted-pair wire and support runs of up to 152 m (500 ft) using CAT5e.

Does the CHV-TSTAT-FCU need a Crestron control system?

No. It functions as a standalone thermostat. Connecting it to a Crestron control system over Cresnet adds functionality as part of a complete home automation system, and several Crestron thermostats can be networked together over Cresnet.
