Crestron CEN-IO-COM-202 Wi-Fi I/O Extender with 2 RS-232 COM Ports

It is a compact Wi-Fi network I/O extender that adds two bidirectional RS-232 COM ports to a Crestron control system. It communicates over 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, supports hardware and software handshaking at up to 115.2k baud, and is powered by an included 5 VDC power pack.

Crestron lists two requirements: an 802.11a/b/g/n wireless access point and an Ethernet-enabled Crestron control system. The extender can memorise up to five access points, and its wireless range is up to 50 ft (15 m), subject to the conditions on site.

It comes with a PW-0510WUL power pack that accepts 100 to 240 VAC at 50/60 Hz and supplies 5 VDC at 1.2 A to a 2-pin terminal block on the extender. Typical power consumption is 0.8 W. The wired CEN-IO-COM-102 is the PoE powered alternative.

The Wi-Fi radio supports 64 and 128-bit WEP, WPA and WPA2-PSK with TKIP and AES encryption, and it can use a static IP address or DHCP. The extender also supports the TLS 1.2 and local authentication security protocols.

It uses the Crestron IFE micro enclosure in black and blue plastic, measuring 34 mm high, 128 mm wide and 73 mm deep. It can stand freely, be stacked, or fix to a surface or 35 mm DIN rail with the included bracket, taking 8 DIN module spaces (144 mm). Rack and pole mount options are available.

Yes. 1Install is an authorised Crestron Elite Partner with offices in Skerries, Co. Dublin and Cork. We can supply the CEN-IO-COM-202 on its own, or install, set up and programme it as part of your system. Installation visits are €440 for 4 hours or €880 for a full day, plus VAT and travel.

Yes. Everything we supply is new, genuine Crestron with Crestron's standard warranty. If the CEN-IO-COM-202 develops a fault, contact us and we will handle the claim with Crestron. If we installed it, our workmanship is guaranteed for the lifetime of the system.

Yes. We supply Crestron to end users, with or without installation. Like most Crestron devices of this type, it needs setting up or programming before it works in a system, and we can quote for that too.
