About the Crestron MC4

The MC4 runs Crestron's 4-Series control engine on an embedded multicore processor with 1 GB of SDRAM. On board are a Cresnet master port, a gigabit Ethernet port, one bidirectional RS-232 port up to 115.2k baud, four IR outputs up to 1.2 MHz, two Versiport I/O ports, two isolated relays rated 1 A at 30 VAC/VDC and an IR input for the CNXRMIRD receiver. A USB 2.0 host port and a microSD slot handle storage and logs.

The built-in gateway pairs infiNET EX and ER (extended range) wireless devices, using the supplied antenna, with a range of 15 m (50 ft) to the nearest mesh device. The processor supports control apps for iPhone, iPad and Android devices, XPanel computer and web control, Crestron Fusion room monitoring and scheduling, and XiO Cloud provisioning and management. More ports can be added with Crestron expansion modules, Ethernet to Cresnet bridges and I/O extenders, sold separately.

The MC4 is powered by PoE (IEEE 802.3at Type 1, 802.3af compatible, Class 0) and uses 7 W typical. The black metal chassis has two integral mounting flanges and can stand freely, be surface mounted, attach to a single rack rail or fit 1U of a 19 in rack with the included ears. It measures 27 mm high, 258 mm wide and 130 mm deep. The figures on this page are Crestron's for the MC4-I.

What is the difference between the MC4-I and MC4-R-I?

Yes. It has a built-in gateway for infiNET EX and ER (extended range) wireless devices, connected to the supplied antenna. Its range is 15 m (50 ft) to the nearest mesh network device, and an ACQUIRE button is used to set up connections with wireless devices.

Yes. 1Install is an authorised Crestron Elite Partner with offices in Skerries, Co. Dublin and Cork. We can supply the MC4 on its own, or install, set up and programme it as part of your system. Installation visits are €440 for 4 hours or €880 for a full day, plus VAT and travel.

Does the MC4 come with a warranty?

Yes. Everything we supply is new, genuine Crestron with Crestron's standard warranty. If the MC4 develops a fault, contact us and we will handle the claim with Crestron. If we installed it, our workmanship is guaranteed for the lifetime of the system.

Is the MC4 in stock?

We order Crestron for each quote, so availability depends on Crestron's stock at the time. We check it before we quote and put the expected delivery date on your quote, so you know where you stand before you pay.

Can I buy the MC4 without installation?

Yes. We supply Crestron to end users, with or without installation. Like most Crestron devices of this type, it needs setting up or programming before it works in a system, and we can quote for that too.
