Crestron AUD-EXT-100 Audio over CAT5 Extender, Unbalanced Stereo

It extends one unbalanced stereo analogue audio signal, from RCA connections, over CAT5 or greater UTP cable for distances up to 2000 ft. It works as a transmitter and companion receiver and is completely passive, so no power supplies are needed.

No. AUD-EXT devices are fully passive, so neither the transmitter nor the receiver needs a power supply or any extra cables. You only need the CAT5 or greater UTP cable between them, which is sold separately.

Crestron designed its audio over CAT5 extenders to provide audio return channels in Sonnex multiroom audio systems. An audio return channel lets a source in one room of the house reach any other room through the central audio distribution system.

Crestron states that the AUD-EXT-100 extends signals up to 2000 ft using CAT5 cable, which is sold separately. The cable should be CAT5 or greater UTP. Each unit carries one unbalanced stereo signal, so a system returning several sources needs one extender per signal.

The transmitter and the receiver can each be fixed to a flat surface or to a single rack rail at the back of an equipment rack. Alternatively, up to three units fit side by side on a standard 1U 19-inch rack shelf.

Yes. Everything we supply is new, genuine Crestron with Crestron's standard warranty. If the AUD-EXT-100 develops a fault, contact us and we will handle the claim with Crestron. If we installed it, our workmanship is guaranteed for the lifetime of the system.
