About the Crestron MPC4-102

With a 4-Series processor built in, the MPC4-102 is both the control system and the user interface for a room. It is fully programmable, includes .AV Framework software and has onboard control ports: a bidirectional RS-232 port up to 115.2k baud, an IR port, two isolated relays rated 1 A at 30 V AC/DC, two Versiport ports for digital input/output or analogue input, and a Cresnet master port.

The unit connects through a Gigabit Ethernet port that also provides its power, as an IEEE 802.3at Type 1 (802.3af compatible) Class 0 PoE device. Typical draw is 4.5 W, or 2.8 W at idle. A proximity sensor with a 20 to 90 cm range wakes the unit when someone approaches, and a light sensor adjusts the backlighting. Crestron Fusion monitoring and scheduling, XPanel and mobile app control are supported.

The nine assignable buttons take replaceable icon chips, with 25 prelabelled chips and five blackout chips to choose from. Buttons are backlit white when inactive and blue when active, and a bargraph shows the volume level. The unit mounts flush on a wall or lectern in a 1-gang electrical box, with a retrofit 2-gang wall mounting option available, and measures 117 mm high, 77 mm wide and 51 mm deep.
