Crestron INET-IOEX-IRCOM infiNET EX Wireless IR and RS-232 Module

It is an infiNET EX wireless control module with one RS-232 port and two IR ports. It lets a Crestron control system operate displays, AV components, small appliances and other equipment by IR or RS-232 without running control wiring to the device.

Crestron states that it is compatible with 3-Series control systems only. If the site has a different generation of processor, check compatibility before choosing this module as a replacement or an addition to the system.

It communicates with the control system through an infiNET EX wireless gateway, and Crestron names the CEN-GWEXER, DIN-AP3MEX and MC3. Up to 100 infiNET EX devices can share a single network, and each device added helps the range and stability of the network.

Storing frequently used IR codes in the module gives the fastest response when a command is sent, according to Crestron. The module also reports data overflow back to the control system, alongside its two IR ports and one RS-232 port.

It has an ultra-compact, surface mount design. Because it communicates with the control system over infiNET EX wireless, no control cable needs to run between the module and the processor or gateway, which is why Crestron suggests it for retrofits and historic buildings.
