Crestron CNXHUB Cresnet Hub with Six Isolated Segments

It is a six-segment Cresnet hub designed for configuring large Cresnet networks. It provides six isolated Cresnet segments, each supporting up to 20 Cresnet devices and 3000 ft (914 m) of aggregate cable length. It is powered from the Cresnet network and needs no programming.

Crestron states that a Cresnet hub is ordinarily required for any Cresnet network with more than 20 devices or 3000 feet (914 metres) of cable. The CNXHUB deals with this by dividing the network into six isolated segments, each with its own limit of 20 devices and 3000 ft of cable.

No programming is required. Crestron describes the CNXHUB as Cresnet network powered, so it takes its power from the Cresnet network it serves. Each of its six isolated segments supports 20 Cresnet devices and 3000 ft (914 m) of aggregate cable.

It is a single-space, half-width unit that can be mounted in a 19-inch equipment rack. It can also be mounted under a table. Either way, each of its six segments supports its own set of up to 20 Cresnet devices.

Crestron's note on the CNXHUB says that an Ethernet to Cresnet bridge, the DIN-CENCN-2 or DIN-CENCN-2-POE, should be used for maximum Cresnet performance and reliability. Cresnet itself is the communications backbone for many Crestron keypads, lighting controls, shade motors, thermostats and occupancy sensors.
