Crestron CGDMX-512BI Bi-directional RS-232 to DMX512 Interface

It is an external interface between a Crestron control system's serial RS-232/422 port and the DMX512 lighting protocol. It gives bi-directional control of 512 DMX channels, has separate DMX In and DMX Out ports, and acts as the master on the DMX network.

It connects to one serial RS-232/422 port on the control system through its DB9 female connector, and that single serial port is all it needs. A CN COM LED on the interface shows traffic between the Crestron processor and the CGDMX-512BI.

DMX Out, a 5-pin XLR, sends data to DMX512 lighting products. DMX In, also a 5-pin XLR, receives data from other DMX512 sources such as lighting consoles or control units. A DMX512 LED shows when a valid DMX512 input signal is present.

Yes. It can process DMX512 data arriving at the DMX In port together with data from the Crestron system. Crestron lists HTP, LTP and exclusive handling among its operating modes. All inputs and outputs on the interface are isolated.

It runs from mains power, 100-250 V AC at 50/60 Hz with 2.4 A listed, through an IEC socket that takes a removable power cord. The enclosure measures 200 mm long, 110 mm wide and 57 mm high, and a power LED shows when the unit is on.

Yes. 1Install is an authorised Crestron Elite Partner with offices in Skerries, Co. Dublin and Cork. We can supply the CGDMX-512BI on its own, or install, set up and programme it as part of your system. Installation visits are €440 for 4 hours or €880 for a full day, plus VAT and travel.

Yes. Everything we supply is new, genuine Crestron with Crestron's standard warranty. If the CGDMX-512BI develops a fault, contact us and we will handle the claim with Crestron. If we installed it, our workmanship is guaranteed for the lifetime of the system.

Yes. We supply Crestron to end users, with or without installation. Like most Crestron devices of this type, it needs setting up or programming before it works in a system, and we can quote for that too.
