Biamp LVH-900 and Enhanced VenuePolar: A Design Guide for Dublin Venues

In October 2026 Biamp confirmed that the updated Biamp LVH-900 steerable venue horn is now available, alongside its enhanced VenuePolar plugin for EASE Focus 3, with the range reduced to two cabinet sizes, the LVH-906 and LVH-909. For consultants, integrators and venue owners in Dublin, the headline is design: VenuePolar can now plan fully custom asymmetric coverage and work out cabinet count, splay and aiming automatically.

  • Biamp announced in October 2026 that the updated Community LVH-900 is now available.
  • The enhanced VenuePolar plugin runs inside EASE Focus 3 and, according to Biamp, generates speaker files for Biamp ALC amplifiers.
  • Biamp's July notice says the AS (single cabinet) and AP (two cabinet array) designations have been eliminated from the range.
  • Biamp says the updated plugin is built into the new LVH-900 5.01 GLL acoustic file.
  • Indoor cabinets come in black, white and custom colour versions, and weather resistant outdoor versions add a grey finish, at the time of writing.

What changed with the Biamp LVH-900 and VenuePolar

Biamp set out the release in its October 2026 announcement on the enhanced LVH-900, which describes the horn as engineered for faster, more streamlined installation. The design side had been previewed earlier, in Biamp's July 2026 announcement of enhanced VenuePolar. That July notice put it plainly: "For the first time, consultants and integrators can design fully custom asymmetric coverage patterns for the LVH-900."

Asymmetric matters because few large rooms are symmetrical. A balcony on one side, a raked floor that stops short of the back wall or a stage pushed into a corner all leave a fixed pattern horn either spilling sound onto hard surfaces or missing seats. With VenuePolar, the designer draws the audience areas and the plugin decides how many LVH cabinets are needed, the splay between them and the aiming angles of the array. Biamp says it then produces speaker files for its ALC amplifiers.

Biamp's October text also says that if a design needs more SPL, higher steering resolution or low frequency control below 200 Hz, the answer is to add cabinets. That makes the cabinet count a design output rather than a guess made at tender stage.

The hardware has changed too. Each cabinet is wired the same way whether it runs 6-channel standard resolution or 9-channel high resolution steering, and a slide jumper on the LF1/F2 panel swaps between the two without rewiring. Biamp says there is no external junction box, and an off centre input panel with an arrow gives the rigger an obvious top.

Who in Dublin should pay attention

The LVH-900 is a large venue product. Biamp's announcement names houses of worship, performing arts venues, arenas and outdoor sports grounds. In and around Dublin, buyers who fit that description include churches with tall stone interiors, concert and theatre venues, conference halls, third level lecture and assembly spaces and stadium operators.

Acoustic consultants gain a modelling tool that sizes the array for them. Integrators get one wiring scheme and fewer part numbers on site. Venue managers get a shorter list of part numbers to check when a tender comes back.

Owners of the older AS and AP cabinets are not left behind. Biamp has said it will keep providing technical support and honour warranties for the remainder of the period that started on the original purchase date.

A design checklist for Dublin projects

If you are planning sound for a large room in Dublin over the next year, these are the points we would raise at the first meeting.

  • Get an accurate room model. VenuePolar is only as good as the drawing it works from. Measured surveys or a point cloud of the audience areas, balconies and ceiling are worth having before modelling starts.
  • Define the audience zones. Decide which areas must be covered and which should be kept quiet, such as a choir loft, a glazed wall or a reverberant dome.
  • Use the current GLL file. Biamp ties the updated plugin to the LVH-900 5.01 GLL file, so check your designer is not working from an older one.
  • Choose the steering resolution. 9-channel gives Biamp's maximum resolution; 6-channel is the option Biamp calls cost optimised. The amplifier count follows from that choice.
  • Plan the amplifiers with the design. Because VenuePolar outputs files for Biamp ALC amplifiers, the amplifier choice belongs in the design stage rather than after it.
  • Confirm the finish. Black, white and custom colour are listed indoors; outdoor versions are marked WR and include grey.
  • Check any existing cabinets. If you already own AS or AP models, ask how they sit with the revised cabinets before adding to an array.

Fitting the LVH-900 into a Dublin venue

Dublin has a mix of Georgian and Victorian churches, modern conference centres and campus halls that are used for lectures one day and concerts the next. Many have heritage restrictions on what can be fixed to walls and ceilings. A compact horn whose coverage is shaped electronically, rather than by a tall hung array, is one way to keep loudspeakers discreet in those rooms. Biamp says the LVH-900 keeps its architecturally friendly footprint along with its output and pattern control.

For a real example of VenuePolar in use, our earlier post on a church built inside a former casino covers Biamp's case study, where LVH-906/APB and LVH-909/APB horns were designed with the plugin. In the new range those codes become LVH-906B and LVH-909B. For speech in teaching rooms, see our post on voice reinforcement on university campuses, and if you run Biamp processing our note on Tesira firmware 5.7.1 is relevant. Our education page covers colleges and schools more broadly.

Questions we are often asked

What is VenuePolar for EASE Focus 3?

It is Biamp's design plugin for the LVH-900. Biamp says it lets designers create fully custom asymmetric coverage and automatically determines cabinet count, splay and aiming.

Can VenuePolar decide how many LVH-900 cabinets a room needs?

Yes. Biamp's July notice says VenuePolar automatically determines the number of LVH cabinets required, the splay between them and the array aiming angles.

Which acoustic file should my designer use for the new LVH-900?

The LVH-900 5.01 GLL file. Biamp says the updated VenuePolar plugin is built into it.

Does VenuePolar work with any amplifier?

Biamp only mentions its own. The announcement says the plugin generates speaker files for Biamp ALC amplifiers; ask Biamp about anything else.

Are the AS and AP versions of the LVH-900 still sold?

No. Biamp discontinued them on 7 August 2026 and replaced them with updated models, while continuing support and warranty for existing owners.
