Biamp announced on 7 October 2026 that the Biamp Devio UCX 1000 bundle is now shipping and carries Microsoft Teams certification, with Microsoft listing the kit as a Teams Rooms on Android system for small and medium rooms until 15 October 2030. Dublin offices that run on Teams now have a certified Biamp option for small rooms, built from one compute unit, one video bar and one table panel.

The Biamp Devio UCX 1000 news in brief
Devio UCX is the Android based Teams Rooms hub Biamp launched in June 2026, with Biamp's own audio processing built in. Our September piece on Devio UCX, the BMA 360D bundles and the SCR-10 walked through the three sizes. What is new is that the entry model now ships as a complete, certified room kit. Biamp's release of 7 October 2026 sets out the parts.
The Devio UCX 1000 is the brain of the room. Biamp says it is built on Microsoft's Device Ecosystem Platform, MDEP, runs Teams Rooms on Android, includes professional DSP and is managed through Microsoft Intune. The Parlé VBC 2800 does the seeing and hearing: Biamp lists dual 4K ePTZ cameras with AI auto framing, 16x digital zoom and a 120 degree horizontal view, plus a 27 microphone Beamtracking array, all over a single USB-C cable back to the compute. The Apprimo Touch 10 UCX-T is the control panel on the table; it pairs automatically, wakes the room when someone walks in, and lets a laptop take over the room over USB-C.
Microsoft's own view is quoted in the release too. Albert Kooiman, general manager of partner engineering and customer enablement at Microsoft, says, "Devio UCX 1000 gives our shared customers a platform, Certified for Microsoft Teams, with professional-grade audio built in."
Reading Microsoft's certified list
It is worth checking Microsoft's own page rather than relying on a press release. On the Teams Rooms on Android certified hardware list the entry reads "BIAMP Devio UCX 1000 + Apprimo Touch 10 UCX-T + Parlé VBC 2800", and at the time of writing it appears twice: once as a "Small Meeting Room (4.5 m x 4.5 m)" and once as a "Medium size room (4.5 m x 6 m)". Both rows show firmware 1.0.0+37.c7caca4d, Android 15 and a 15 October 2030 certification end date.
The date matters for budgeting. A room fitted this year has a published certification window running into late 2030, which gives finance teams a sensible horizon for planning the next refresh. The plus signs matter too: the certified system is those three products together.
Is it right for your Dublin office?
It suits organisations that have settled on Teams and want small rooms that are quick to roll out and look after centrally. Typical candidates are a set of small focus rooms in a Docklands office, small interview rooms in a professional services firm around Merrion Square, or a hot desking floor in Sandyford that needs a few bookable huddle spaces.
It is less suited where:
- the room is clearly bigger than Microsoft's 4.5 m by 6 m medium room, where the UCX 2000 or UCX 3000, with distributed microphones and ceiling speakers, is the better fit;
- staff regularly host Zoom or Google Meet calls from the room, since this release is about Teams and Biamp shows laptop BYOM on the Apprimo Touch 10 UCX-T as coming soon;
- you want a bar other than the VBC 2800 and need the room to be the listed certified system.
Biamp does sell the core of compute and panel on its own as UCC-UCX100-T, and says it can be combined with Parlé ABC, CBC or VBC bars and Vidi 250 or Vidi 280 cameras. The other room kit, MRB-UCX1000T-VBC2500a, pairs it with the VBC 2500a bar. Only the VBC 2800 kit is marked Teams certified on Biamp's October page at the time of writing.
A buying checklist for the Devio UCX 1000
Use this before you sign off a quote:
- Measure the room. Compare it with Microsoft's small (4.5 m x 4.5 m) and medium (4.5 m x 6 m) listings and note how far the back row sits from the screen.
- Confirm the part number. Ask for MRB-UCX1000T-VBC2800 if the room must match Microsoft's certified list.
- Plan the network. A network port for the compute, a VLAN if your IT policy needs one, the single cable run to the panel (Biamp says no extra network points are needed for it) and a short USB-C run to the bar.
- Sort the licences. A Microsoft Teams Rooms licence per room, plus Intune enrolment if that is how your devices are managed.
- Agree the handover. Who runs Biamp Launch, which measures the room and sets echo cancellation, noise reduction, EQ and speaker levels, and who has access to Biamp Workplace afterwards.
- Check support. Biamp states a three year warranty; agree who handles a fault on site.
Biamp Workplace is getting broader at the same time. Biamp's October latest news page announces a Q4 update with single sign on for Microsoft Entra ID, Okta and SAML providers and a notification centre for alerts. Its Tesira users may also want our note on Biamp Tesira firmware 5.7.1, which VenueTune 2.2.1 now supports.
Where 1Install comes in
1Install designs, supplies and installs meeting rooms, Teams Rooms and video conferencing systems for offices across Dublin. A bundle shortens the equipment list, but the room still decides the result: glass partitions, hard floors, where the screen and bar can be fixed, and how cables reach the comms room. We look at all of that at survey stage. See our Teams Room installation service in Dublin, our approach to video conferencing and huddle rooms, and how our process runs from survey to handover. Questions we are often asked
When did the Biamp Devio UCX 1000 bundle start shipping?
Biamp says it became available on 7 October 2026, through its global network of authorised resellers and integrators.
What is in the Devio UCX 1000 Teams certified kit?
Three products: the Devio UCX 1000 compute, the Parlé VBC 2800 video bar and the Apprimo Touch 10 UCX-T touch panel. Microsoft lists those three together as the certified system.
Until when is the Devio UCX 1000 certified for Teams Rooms?
Microsoft's list gives 15 October 2030 as the current certification end date, with Android 15, at the time of writing.
Does the Devio UCX 1000 need a separate audio processor?
No. Biamp says the compute has professional DSP built in and Biamp Launch tunes the room automatically, and the certified kit contains no separate processor.
Is the Devio UCX 1000 big enough for a boardroom?
Usually not. Microsoft lists it for rooms up to a medium size of 4.5 m x 6 m; for a boardroom, Biamp's UCX 2000 and UCX 3000 support distributed microphones and up to eight ceiling speakers.
