Biamp Devio UCX, BMA 360D Bundles and the End of the SCR-10: A Guide for Dublin and Cork Offices

Wide view of a boardroom: a long pale table with a marble inlay, brown leather chairs, a wall mounted display, microphones fixed to the ceiling and a linear light. Larger rooms like this are where the Biamp Devio UCX 2000 and 3000 are aimed

Three Biamp changes from September 2026 affect meeting rooms in Dublin and Cork: Parlé conferencing bars can now work alongside a Biamp Devio UCX 1000 hub for Microsoft Teams Rooms, four new BMA 360D bundles cover medium and large rooms, and Biamp has discontinued the Modena Hub and the Devio SCR-10. Owners of the retired products do not need to act in a hurry, but anyone planning a new room should choose from the current range.

Three Biamp changes at a glance

Change What it means Who should act
Parlé firmware 1.10.0 Adds support for Biamp's meeting room hub, the Devio UCX 1000. Released for five Parlé bars: the VBC 2800, VBC 2500a, VBC 2500, ABC 2500a and ABC 2500 Anyone planning a small Teams room around a Biamp bar
BMA 360D meeting room bundles Four packages: a ceiling microphone array, a TesiraFORTÉ X processor, Desono ceiling loudspeakers, a PoE injector and cables Anyone planning a medium or large room
Product discontinuation Devio SCR-10, Modena Hub and Modena Hub+ discontinued on 24 September 2026 Owners, and anyone with those models in a quote that has not been ordered

All three were published on Biamp's latest news page. A further September notice covers Tesira firmware 5.7.1, a maintenance release that Biamp says improves responsiveness with Biamp Workplace and delivers critical fixes for Tesira and TesiraLux products and for Voltera D and D M amplifiers.

Planning a new Teams room: what Biamp Devio UCX changes

Biamp announced Devio UCX in June 2026. According to its product page, this is a meeting room hub based on Android. It runs Microsoft Teams Rooms and has Biamp's own audio processing inside the same unit. Biamp says the hub is certified to run Teams Rooms and was developed on the Microsoft Device Ecosystem Platform (MDEP).

The range has three models:

  • Devio UCX 1000 is for small conference rooms and huddle spaces. It pairs with a video bar from Biamp and the Apprimo Touch 10 UCX controller.
  • Devio UCX 2000 suits medium and large rooms, where Biamp says you can go beyond a bar with up to eight ceiling speakers and four distributed microphones. Its HDMI input lets content be shared from older devices.
  • Devio UCX 3000 has four times the UCX 2000's processing power and supports dual and ultrawide 5K displays.

The September firmware is what connects the small room model to Biamp's bars. Devio UCX 1000 support arrives with Parlé version 1.10.0, so a bar going into one of these rooms should run that version or a later one. Biamp's support page for Devio UCX names two Parlé video bars for use with the UCX 1000: the VBC 2800 and VBC 2500a.

Three features matter to whoever looks after the rooms. The hub can be monitored and managed from Biamp Workplace and from the Microsoft Teams Pro Management Portal. At setup, a tool called Biamp Launch detects the Biamp peripherals on the system and takes acoustic measurements of the room, which it uses to tune the audio. And when a visitor's meeting is on another platform, plugging their laptop into the touch controller with a USB-C cable puts the room into BYOM (bring your own meeting) mode.

Biamp's product page shows no prices or shipping dates. One caution for offices on Zoom: the June launch release lists Zoom Rooms as well as Teams, but the product page talks about Teams alone, so get the current position in writing.

Bar or ceiling microphone: choosing by room

A video bar under the screen suits a room where everyone sits within a few metres of it. Once the table is longer, voices at the far end need microphones closer to them, either on the table or in the ceiling.

Small rooms. Add a display to a Parlé video bar, a Devio UCX 1000 and its touch controller, and one manufacturer has supplied the whole Teams room. See our page on huddle rooms for how we approach the smallest spaces.

Medium and large rooms. This is where the new BMA 360D bundles sit. The BMA 360D is a ceiling tile microphone array from Biamp. Each medium room bundle has a TesiraFORTÉ X 800 processor, one microphone array and two Desono C-IC6 ceiling loudspeakers. Each large room bundle has a TesiraFORTÉ X 1600, one microphone array and four loudspeakers. A POE-90W injector from Biamp's EasyConnect range and a plenum rated Cat5e cable kit come with every bundle.

The ceiling grid. Each bundle comes with either the 24 inch BMA 360D or the 600 mm BMA 360D-I. If your ceiling tiles are 600 mm square, specify the BMA 360D-I.

Two cautions apply. Biamp calls the bundles an audio solution, which means the Teams Rooms computer, camera and display are still to be added. The notice is also silent on certification. In June 2026, Biamp announced Microsoft Teams certification for the BMA 360D and said that the microphone, Desono C-IC6 loudspeakers and TesiraFORTÉ X processors together make up a Zoom certified audio system, so ask for the current certified list for the exact combination if that matters to your IT team.

If you own a Devio SCR-10 or a Modena Hub

Biamp's discontinuation notice puts the discontinuation of all three products at 24 September 2026. The last order date it gives is 30 September 2026 for the Devio SCR-10 and 28 December 2026 for the Modena Hub and Modena Hub+.

The Devio SCR-10, a conferencing hub, is intended for small conference rooms and huddle rooms. One USB cable links a laptop to the room's USB devices and display. The Modena Hub lets people present wirelessly to the room display. Biamp's recommended alternatives are the EasyConnect MPX 250, Devio SCR-25 or Devio SCR-20 for the SCR-10, and MAX Connect for the Modena Hubs.

Nothing stops working. Biamp's notice commits it to continued technical support, and to honouring the warranty for the period that started on the original purchase date. Our advice:

  • Leave working rooms alone, and keep a record of when each unit was bought.
  • If a quote you are holding still lists an SCR-10 or a Modena Hub, ask for it to be revised around the recommended alternative.
  • If you depend on Modena Hubs and want spares or extra rooms to match, the order deadline is 28 December 2026.

What we check on a survey

  1. The table length and seating, which decide between a bar and separate microphones.
  2. The ceiling: its type, its height and whether it is a 600 mm grid that will take a tile microphone.
  3. The cable routes and the network switch, since Biamp's peripherals take their power over the network cable.
  4. The platform, Teams or Zoom, and what your IT team needs to manage the room.
  5. Any Biamp equipment already in place and the firmware it is running.

Questions we are often asked

Is Biamp Devio UCX certified for Microsoft Teams Rooms?

Biamp's product page says Devio UCX is certified to run Microsoft Teams Rooms. Ask for the current certified device list for the exact model and bar you are buying.

Do we need new Parlé bars to use Devio UCX?

Possibly not. The 1.10.0 firmware covers five Parlé models (the VBC 2800, VBC 2500a, VBC 2500, ABC 2500a and ABC 2500), though the UCX 1000 bundles on Biamp's support page mention only the two video bars, the VBC 2800 and VBC 2500a.

What is the difference between the BMA 360D and the BMA 360D-I?

Size. Biamp lists the BMA 360D as the 24 inch version and the BMA 360D-I as the 600 mm version. The bundles are offered with either, so choose the one that matches your ceiling grid.

Will Biamp still support our Devio SCR-10?

Biamp's notice says technical support will continue and that warranty commitments will be honoured throughout the warranty period dating from the original purchase. Beyond that, the notice only sets last order dates.

What replaces the Modena Hub?

Biamp recommends MAX Connect, which it describes as a bring your own meeting room solution. Orders for the Modena Hub and Modena Hub+ can be placed until 28 December 2026.
