About the Crestron ULTIMATE IC8

An 8 in. (203 mm) carbon fibre woofer is paired with a 1 in. (25 mm) ceramic-coated aluminium tweeter that steers up to 30° off-axis. With a 3.5 kHz crossover at 30 dB/oct, response runs from 45 Hz to 30 kHz (±3 dB), extending to 35 Hz at ±10 dB. Power handling is 150 W programme and 300 W peak, with 86 dB sensitivity and 8 ohms nominal impedance.

It is IP66 rated for particles and water and specified from -15.5° to 80°C, with a glass fibre reinforced ABS baffle. The grille is electroplated and powder coated steel with a magnetically held bezel and can be painted, and there are several grille options. A twist and lock toolless bayonet system holds the speaker and is designed to minimise interference with other elements in the ceiling.

The recommended cutout is 222 mm (8.75 in.), the same as the ULTIMATE IC6, and Crestron notes that Ultimate and Reference IC6 and IC8 speakers are interchangeable for that reason. The speaker is 244 mm across without the grille, 118 mm deep without the bayonet ring (up to 135 mm with it) and weighs 2.26 kg. Wiring uses a detachable 2-pin terminal block taking up to 12 AWG. It is covered under the Crestron standard limited warranty.
