About the Crestron SAROS IC6ULPT
Saros low profile models are an alternative to the full-sized Saros speakers for ceilings with little depth. The IC6ULPT uses a 4 in. (102 mm) polypropylene woofer with a ring mode decoupled cloth surround and steel basket, and a 0.98 in. (25 mm) titanium dome tweeter, crossing over at 2.5 kHz. Frequency response is 120 Hz to 20 kHz (±3 dB), sensitivity is 85 dB at 1 W/1 m and maximum SPL is 100 dB.
A recessed rotary switch on the baffle selects the transformer tap with a screwdriver: 3.75, 7.5, 15 or 30 W at 70V, 7.5, 15 or 30 W at 100V, or 8 Ω, where power handling is 35 W programme. Wiring enters through a gland nut with two pigtails and four watertight wire nuts, with a parallel pass-through and wire up to 12 AWG (3.31 mm²). Coverage is 150° for speech and 140° for music.
The zinc-plated steel enclosure is plenum-rated and the speaker is IPX5 rated for splash resistance. Four two-step swivelling dogs clamp it into ceilings up to 1 in. (25 mm) thick, and a tile bridge is included for drop-tile ceilings. The steel grille is frameless, magnetically held, paintable and tethered. The speaker is 10.63 in. (270 mm) across, 2.43 in. (62 mm) deep and weighs 4.5 lb (2.04 kg). It is sold singly but must be ordered in multiples of 2.
