About the Crestron AMP-X300

Output can be arranged as 4 x 75 W, 2 x 150 W, 1 x 300 W bridged, or 2 x 75 W plus 1 x 150 W bridged. Slide switches for channels 1 and 2 and for channels 3 and 4 select stereo, summed or bridged Lo-Z operation. In Hi-Z mode the channel pairs are bridged for 70 V or 100 V lines, giving 300 W with one channel driven or 150 W each with two. Frequency response is 20 Hz to 20 kHz ±0.5 dB.

Inputs are four balanced 3-pin 3.5 mm terminal blocks and four unbalanced RCA connectors, and the RCA inputs support summing on channels 1 and 2 and on channels 3 and 4. Speaker outputs use two 4-pin 5.08 mm captive plugs with screw locking retainers, taking up to 12 AWG wire. A signal-sensing standby turns the amplifier on when audio is detected, and Always On mode keeps the amplifier permanently on while drawing very little power.

The fanless, convection-cooled metal chassis is 220 mm wide, 280 mm deep and 44 mm high without feet. It can be freestanding, surface mounted or fitted in a 19-inch rack as a half-width 1 RU unit, and it comes with what is needed for surface mounting, rack mounting and ganging units together. The RMK-AMP-X kit, sold separately, gangs it with other half-rack width products.

What is the Crestron AMP-X300?

It is a 300 W X-Series power amplifier in a half-rack width, 1 RU chassis. Its output can be configured as four channels of 75 W, two of 150 W, one bridged channel of 300 W, or two 75 W channels plus one 150 W bridged channel, for Lo-Z or Hi-Z speakers.

Can the AMP-X300 drive 70 V or 100 V speakers?

Yes. In Hi-Z mode, channels 1 and 2 and channels 3 and 4 are bridged and set to 70 V or 100 V operation. It provides 300 W with one channel driven or 150 W with two channels driven, and a high-pass filter is applied at 80 Hz in this mode.

How can the AMP-X300 be mounted?

It can be freestanding, surface mounted, for example on a wall or under a table, or fitted in a 19-inch rack as a half-width 1 RU unit. It comes with what is needed for surface mounting, rack mounting and ganging units together, and the RMK-AMP-X kit (sold separately) gangs it with other half-rack width products.

What are the Power Saver and Always On modes?

A slide switch selects the mode. In Power Saver, the amplifier goes to sleep after 25 minutes with no signal and wakes when its input sensing detects audio, typically in 0.5 s. Always On keeps the amplifier permanently on while drawing very little power. A dry contact on the REMOTE terminal can also place it in standby.

What inputs and speaker connectors does it have?

Does the AMP-X300 come with a warranty?

Yes. Everything we supply is new, genuine Crestron with Crestron's standard warranty. If the AMP-X300 develops a fault, contact us and we will handle the claim with Crestron. If we installed it, our workmanship is guaranteed for the lifetime of the system.
