About the Crestron SAROS IC4P

A single 2.83 in. (72 mm) BMR transducer covers the full 90 Hz to 30 kHz (±3 dB) range, which Crestron says gives wider coverage angles than a traditional conical woofer with a concentric tweeter. Coverage is 170° conical for speech and 140° for music, and sensitivity is 86 dB at 1 W/1 m. Power handling for the BMR is 25 W.

There are two ways to drive it. The RJ-45 audio input is for use with the SAROS DM-NAX-IC4A-W only, which can power up to three of these speakers from its speaker-level outputs, and the IC4P's white LED behaviour is then set in that speaker's web UI. Alternatively, a 2-pin 5 mm terminal block accepts the speaker output of an external amplifier, at 8 Ohms (7.4 Ohms nominal), with a maximum power output of 25 W.

The plenum-rated painted steel enclosure has 0.75 in. (19 mm) conduit knockouts and a cable clamp. Four two-step toggle clamps hold it in ceilings up to 2.36 in. (60 mm) thick through a 6.5 in. (165 mm) recommended cutout, and a tile bridge is included for drop-tile ceilings. The magnetic grille has a white textured finish and a safety tether, and the speaker weighs 2.35 lb (1.06 kg).
