About the Crestron REFERENCE IC8

Inside, an 8 in. (203 mm) woven glass fibre woofer works with a 1 in. (25 mm) Silk DPSD tweeter, which can be steered up to 30° off-axis. The two drivers cross over at 3 kHz with a 30 dB/oct slope. Response is 55 Hz to 20 kHz (±3 dB), and the frequency range extends from 39 Hz to 20 kHz at ±10 dB. Sensitivity is 87 dB at 1 W/1 m into 8 Ohms nominal.

The speaker handles 100 W programme and 200 W peak. Two gold-plated spring terminals accept speaker wire up to 10 AWG (6 mm²). A glass fibre reinforced ABS baffle carries a paintable grille made from electroplated and powder coated steel, held on by a magnetic bezel, and Crestron lists various grille options. It is specified for indoor use only.

Mounting depth is 4.09 in. (104 mm) without the bayonet ring and up to 5.31 in. (135 mm) with it. The recommended cutout is 8.75 in. (222 mm), which Crestron says is shared by the Ultimate and Reference IC6 and IC8 speakers, making them interchangeable. The speaker weighs 3.3 lb (1.49 kg), and each part number is a single white textured unit.
