About the Crestron CM2-DIMEX

The dimmer is rated for incandescent, tungsten halogen and magnetic loads up to 750 W/VA at 120-240VAC, or 600 W/VA at 100VAC, and for motors up to 1/4 HP. A switching mode handles non-dimmable loads. Minimum and maximum light levels can be adjusted, and the dimming curve can be set to linear, logarithmic or a custom curve. With a neutral connected there is no minimum load.

The full keypad takes two to six buttons in small, medium and large sizes, and the bottom four can be programmed as side-to-side rockers. Button events are programmable for normal, tap, double-tap and press and hold. Six RGB backlit text regions and six RGB indicator regions give feedback, the backlight white adjusts between 2000K and 8000K, and an ambient light sensor dims the backlight with separate day and night modes.

Wireless control uses infiNET EX 2-way RF at 2.4 GHz through a CEN-GW1, CENI-GW1, MC4, MC4-R, CEN-GWEXER or CENI-GWEXER gateway, sold separately. CM2-AUX and CM2-KPEX multiway controllers connect over a traveller wire. The dimmer fits a 1- to 4-gang wall box of the type Crestron specifies, with an 89 mm box depth recommended and derating required in multi-gang applications. The faceplate is not included.

What is the Crestron CM2-DIMEX?

It is a Cameo 2 in-wall forward-phase dimmer with a full keypad and infiNET EX wireless communication, for 100-240VAC line power. It dims incandescent, magnetic low voltage and tungsten-halogen loads, can switch non-dim loads such as small exhaust fans, and its keypad can trigger remote actions through a Crestron control processor.

What loads can the CM2-DIMEX control?

Crestron rates it for incandescent, tungsten halogen and magnetic loads up to 600 W/VA at 100VAC or 750 W/VA at 120-240VAC, and for motors up to 1/4 HP. Minimum and maximum light levels are adjustable, and the dimming curve can be linear, logarithmic or custom.

Does the CM2-DIMEX need a neutral wire?

The neutral connection is optional, but Crestron recommends it for performance. With a neutral connected there is no minimum load. Without one, the minimum load is 5 W incandescent or 2 LED bulbs. The HOT, REM, LOAD, NEU and GND terminals are screw terminals for 14-12 AWG wire.

What is the difference between the CM2-DIMEX-W-S and CM2-DIMEX ENGRAVED?

Both are the same full keypad forward-phase dimmer. The CM2-DIMEX-W-S is the standard engraved version in White Smooth, supplied with six small buttons. The CM2-DIMEX ENGRAVED is custom engraved, with its finish specified in the custom engravings file.

Which gateway does the dimmer need?

As an infiNET EX device it needs a Crestron wireless gateway, sold separately: the CEN-GW1 or CENI-GW1, the MC4 or MC4-R, or the CEN-GWEXER or CENI-GWEXER. Typical range is 46 m (150 ft) indoors and 76 m (250 ft) outdoors to the nearest mesh network device, subject to site conditions.

Yes. Everything we supply is new, genuine Crestron with Crestron's standard warranty. If the CM2-DIMEX develops a fault, contact us and we will handle the claim with Crestron. If we installed it, our workmanship is guaranteed for the lifetime of the system.
