Crestron ZUMMESH-PIR-VACANCY-BATT Zum Wireless Vacancy Sensor

It is a Zum wireless, battery-powered vacancy sensor for ceiling mounting. It uses passive infrared detection to sense when a room is vacant, then automates Zum dimmers, switches and load controllers to turn the lights off, which reduces energy wasted on empty rooms.

Grace occupancy helps when the lights turn off while someone is still in the room. During the 15 second grace period that follows, the person can simply wave a hand and the lights are turned back on.

Mounted on the ceiling, it gives 360 degree coverage for areas up to 500 square feet (46.5 m²). Its specialised lens divides the field of view into sensor zones, and it detects motion when a warm body passes between zones. A half mask and a perforated mask are included.

Crestron quotes a 10-year battery life from the single 9 V lithium battery, which is included. The sensor is completely wireless and communicates with the Zum system using Zum Mesh peer-to-peer RF, with pair and play setup.

The vacancy sensor turns lights off when the room is vacant. The ZUMMESH-PIR-OCCUPANCY-BATT is the occupancy version, which turns lights on when the room is occupied and off when it is vacant. Both are battery-powered PIR sensors with the same 500 sq ft (46.5 m²) coverage.

Installation visits are €440 for 4 hours or €880 for a full day, plus VAT and travel.
