Crestron ZUMMESH-OL-PHOTOCELL-BATT Zum Wireless Daylight Sensor

It is a Zum wireless, battery-powered daylight sensor of the open-loop photocell type. It monitors natural daylight levels from the windows in a room and communicates wirelessly with Zum dimmers and load controllers, which automatically adjust their dimming levels to keep light consistent and reduce energy use.

Daylight harvesting makes use of natural light from the windows to reduce the energy used for lighting. With this sensor, one unit can control several dimming zones arranged in relation to the windows, adjusting each zone so the lighting level stays consistent throughout the room.

Crestron quotes ten years of operation on two AAA lithium batteries, which are included. The sensor is battery powered and completely wireless, communicating with the rest of the Zum system over Zum Mesh peer-to-peer RF.

It has a compact design for surface mounting on the ceiling. The mounting base allows ±20° of rotation, which makes it easier to position the sensor. As it is battery powered and wireless, there is no cable to run to the ceiling position.

Setup and calibration are done with the press of a button, and the sensor uses Zum Mesh pair and play setup to join a standalone or networked Zum wireless lighting system. Crestron's Zum Lighting Control System Setup Guide (Doc # 7957) gives more information.

Installation visits are €440 for 4 hours or €880 for a full day, plus VAT and travel.
