About the Crestron REFERENCE IW4X8

The IW4X8 uses a 4 in. x 8 in. (102 mm x 203 mm) racetrack woofer made from woven glass fibre, paired with a 1 in. (25 mm) Silk DPSD tweeter. The crossover point is 3 kHz with a 12 dB/oct slope. Frequency response is 60 Hz to 20 kHz (±3 dB), and the frequency range reaches 45 Hz to 20 kHz at ±10 dB. Sensitivity is 86 dB at 1 W/1 m.

The speaker is rated at 8 Ohms nominal, with 100 W programme and 200 W peak power handling. Wiring goes to two gold-plated spring terminals that take up to 10 AWG (6 mm²). The baffle is glass fibre reinforced ABS and the rectangular grille is electroplated, powder coated steel with a magnetically held bezel, which can be painted to suit the room.

The Spring Lock system is designed to minimise interference with other items inside the wall. Without the grille the speaker is 11.81 in. (300 mm) high, 5.51 in. (140 mm) wide and 3.74 in. (95 mm) deep, and the grille measures 12.40 in. x 6.10 in. (315 mm x 155 mm). The recommended cutout is 11 in. (279 mm) high by 4.68 in. (119 mm) wide. It weighs 3.8 lb (1.72 kg) and is for indoor use only.
