Crestron GLS-OIR-CSM-EX-BATT Wireless Battery PIR Occupancy Sensor

It is a battery-powered, wireless passive infrared occupancy sensor for ceiling mounting. It reports when a room is occupied or vacant to a Crestron control system over infiNET EX, so the system can automate lighting, shading, HVAC and AV equipment and monitor how rooms are used.

Crestron quotes a 10-year battery life using the 9 V lithium battery that comes with the sensor. Because it is battery-powered and communicates over infiNET EX wireless, the sensor needs no power or control wiring.

It uses the infiNET EX wireless network, which provides two-way RF communication through a residential or commercial building without physical control wiring. The sensor communicates with the Crestron control system through an infiNET EX wireless gateway.

It is designed for small areas of up to 500 sq ft (46.5 sq m), with a 360° coverage pattern. A half mask and a perforated mask come with the sensor, and detection uses a specialised PIR lens that divides the field of view into zones.

Yes. The control system programme can configure it to sense vacancy only. In that mode, lighting and other equipment switch off automatically when the room becomes vacant but are only turned on manually, and grace occupancy allows lights that go off while someone is still present to be turned back on.
