Crestron GLA-US-QUATTRO-COM1-24 Ultrasonic Presence Detector

It is the STEINEL US QUATTRO COM1-24, a low voltage presence detector that uses 40 kHz ultrasonic sensing for omnidirectional detection. It controls lighting based on presence and on a selectable ambient light level from its integrated force off photocell, working with a power pack or a building automation system.

Presence detection covers a maximum of 6 x 6 m (36 sq m), or 20 x 20 ft (400 sq ft), and a minimum of 2 x 2 m (4 sq m). Where more area is needed, COM-Link lets several detectors be grouped peer to peer to expand the detection zone.

Crestron notes that ultrasonic sensing is used as good practice in design and retrofit applications where the sensor will not have a clear line of sight. STEINEL's ultrasonic signal processing gives stable, volumetric detection in all directions.

It runs on 18 to 24 VDC or VAC at 30 mA, 50/60 Hz, and is designed for use with a power pack or a building automation system. Its control output is rated 1 A at 30 VAC/VDC, with a time delay from 30 seconds to 30 minutes, a pulse mode or IQ mode.

COM-Link connects several detectors over their communication link for peer to peer grouping. This expands the detection zone, and the control settings for the entire group are made at a single primary sensor rather than at each detector.
