Crestron CLW-EXPEX-GD infiNET EX Wireless Expander, Ground Pin Down

It is an infiNET EX wireless expander: a two-way RF device that plugs into a standard 3-prong 120V AC receptacle and extends the range of an infiNET EX wireless network. It is used to fill dead spots between two or more rooms so that devices on the mesh keep communicating with each other.

Crestron states that it extends wireless range up to 150 feet (46 metres) indoors. Because infiNET EX is a mesh network, each device passes commands on to the other devices, and every device added to the network increases the range and stability of the whole network.

Up to 5 expanders can be added to a single infiNET EX network, and the network as a whole can hold up to 100 infiNET EX devices. Each expander is set up using automatic discovery and uses Wi-Fi friendly channel assignment.

It communicates with the Crestron control system through an infiNET EX wireless gateway, model CEN-RFGW-EX, DIN-AP3MEX or MC3. The expander needs no control wiring: it joins the 2.4 GHz mesh network wirelessly and takes its power from a standard 3-prong 120V AC receptacle.
