About the Crestron AMP-X500

Each output channel has a rotary selector for 250 W into 4 to 8 ohms, 500 W into 8 ohms, or 70 V or 100 V operation at 500 W. Total simultaneous output across both channels will not exceed 500 W, so running one channel at 500 W uses the whole budget. In 70 V or 100 V mode a high-pass filter is applied at 80 Hz. Frequency response is 20 Hz to 20 kHz ±0.5 dB, with a signal-to-noise ratio above 103 dBA.

Both channels have a balanced input on a 3-pin terminal block and an unbalanced RCA input, and a BUS input and buffered BUS output on paired RCA connectors let one signal feed several amplifiers. Input select controls choose RCA, balanced, BUS left/right or BUS mono per channel, and screwdriver-adjustable gain controls set levels. Speaker outputs use captive 2-pin 5.08 mm plugs with screw locking retainers, taking up to 12 AWG wire.

Signal sensing brings the amplifier out of standby as soon as audio reaches its inputs. In Power Saver mode it sleeps after 25 minutes without signal and typically wakes in 0.5 s, while Always On mode is selected with the same slide switch. A dry contact closure on the REMOTE terminal can place it in standby. Its fanless metal chassis is convection cooled, 1 RU high and 370 mm deep, and it can stand freely, fit a 19-inch rack or stack with other Crestron AMP series products.
