Since 7 October 2026 the Biamp Devio UCX 1000 room kit, which combines the Devio UCX 1000 compute, the Parlé VBC 2800 bar and the Apprimo Touch 10 UCX-T panel, has been shipping and Certified for Microsoft Teams, Biamp says. For a Cork organisation with Teams rooms spread between a city centre office and the business parks, it means a single part number now delivers a certified room that can be repeated site after site.

Why one certified Biamp Devio UCX 1000 kit suits Cork
Cork's office market is unusually spread out. A company can have a headquarters near the South Mall, a second building in Cork Docklands and a team out at Little Island, Mahon or Ballincollig, each with its own handful of small rooms. The pharma and technology campuses around the city often have dozens of them. When every one of those rooms is built differently, each needs its own fault finding, its own training notes and its own spares.
A fixed kit removes much of that. Joe Andrulis, Biamp's executive vice president of corporate development, puts the case for standardising on Teams in terms of rolling rooms out at scale, and adds: "Certification means the Devio UCX 1000 bundle arrives ready for that job." Whatever view you take of the marketing, the useful fact is that the same three products appear on Microsoft's list as one system, so a room in Carrigaline and a room in the city can be built and supported identically.
The three Devio UCX 1000 part numbers compared
Biamp's October 2026 latest news page lists three ways to buy the hub. Only one of them matches what Microsoft certifies today.
| Part number | Contents, as Biamp lists them | On Microsoft's Teams Rooms on Android list? |
|---|---|---|
| UCC-UCX100-T | Core bundle: Devio UCX 1000 and Apprimo Touch 10 UCX-T. Biamp pairs it with any Parlé ABC, CBC or VBC bar, or with a Vidi 250 or 280 camera. | Not on its own; it depends on the bar or camera added. |
| MRB-UCX1000T-VBC2500a | Quick-install room kit: the core plus a Parlé VBC 2500a bar. | Not listed at the time of writing. |
| MRB-UCX1000T-VBC2800 | Quick-install kit for small and medium rooms: the core plus a Parlé VBC 2800 bar. | Yes, in two rows (small and medium room), firmware 1.0.0+37.c7caca4d. |
For a roll out where every room must match the certified system, the VBC 2800 kit is the one to name on the order. The core bundle gives more freedom for odd shaped rooms, at the cost of stepping outside the listed combination.
What commissioning looks like
Biamp has designed the kit to need little set up. According to its 7 October release, the Apprimo panel pairs itself the moment it is connected, runs from a single cable and needs no additional network drops, while the VBC 2800 reaches the compute over one USB-C cable. Its product page adds that this USB-C link carries both data and power.
Biamp Launch then does the audio work. The release says it locates the connected peripherals, takes acoustic measurements of the space and adjusts echo cancellation, noise reduction, equalisation and loudspeaker levels by itself, with no audio engineer needed on site. Biamp's product page says Launch gives each room a rating from Poor to Extraordinary. That report is worth keeping with the handover documents for every room, so a later complaint can be compared with how the room measured on day one.
None of this replaces a survey. A glass fronted room in a Docklands block and a plasterboard room on a Little Island business park will behave differently, and the bar still needs a solid fixing under the display.
Managing many rooms from one place
For an IT team looking after rooms across several Cork sites, management matters more than the hardware. In Biamp's words the Devio UCX 1000 is handled by Microsoft Intune, the same as other Teams Room endpoints. On top of that, Biamp Workplace watches the health of each room remotely, pushes firmware over the air and keeps the Launch report card for every space in the estate.
Workplace is also changing. Biamp's October page describes a Q4 update with enterprise single sign on through Microsoft Entra ID, Okta and SAML based providers, a notification centre for alerts about devices, licences, users and firmware, user profiles for settings and role permissions, and a simpler registration flow for new users. For a campus IT department that already signs staff in through Entra ID, that should make giving the facilities team access far tidier.
Where it fits and where it does not
Good fits. Focus rooms and small meeting rooms in city centre offices, interview rooms, and the bookable huddle spaces on a large campus floor. In education, the meeting and tutorial rooms that buyers at UCC or MTU might be planning are closer to this kit's size than any lecture space.
Poor fits. Anything clearly larger than Microsoft's 4.5 m by 6 m medium room. Biamp positions the UCX 2000 for rooms where a bar is not enough, with up to four distributed microphones and eight ceiling speakers and an HDMI input for older devices, and the UCX 3000 for rooms that need the highest performance.
Other platforms. The release and Microsoft's listing are about Teams. Biamp's product page describes connecting a laptop by USB-C for bring your own meeting, but its October page still marks that BYOM feature of the panel "coming soon". Check where it stands before promising Zoom or Google Meet calls from these rooms.
