Home cinema installation in Co. Limerick for new family homes and large one off houses, starting with the thing every cinema has to master: light from outside.
Daylight washes out a projected picture, so a cinema room has to deal with its windows. Sometimes blackout blinds are enough. In a dedicated room the window may go altogether.
From window to lit shelving
In one cinema room we built, the window was closed in for good. Instead of leaving a blank wall, we built shelving into the new wall where the window had been, with LED lighting on every shelf, and it is now one of the first things people notice in the room.

Home cinemas across Limerick
Limerick projects range from new family homes to large one off houses in the county, including around Castletroy, Mungret, Raheen and Adare. We plan every system around the property and support it long after handover, and Limerick is covered by our own engineers from survey to support. If you are building, the window positions and blinds can be planned with the cinema from the start.
Dealing with daylight
- Motorised blackout blinds that close when the film starts
- A large TV for rooms that cannot be made dark, since a TV stays bright in daylight
- Closing in a window, with joinery or shelving in its place, for a dedicated cinema
- Dark finishes and fabric walls that stop light bouncing back onto the screen
Questions we are often asked
Can a room with big windows be a cinema?
Yes. Blackout blinds and a bright TV make a good media room. Projection needs a room that gets properly dark, so we look at blinds first and at closing in a window only for a dedicated cinema.
How much should we budget?
That depends on the room and the equipment. A media room can start from a few thousand euro, while a dedicated cinema room costs considerably more. Try our Quote Builder for a figure in minutes.
