Home Cinema Installation in Co. Galway

Home cinema installation in Co. Galway, with the seating planned so every row sees the whole screen, whether the room holds four seats or nine.

The first sketch of any cinema we design is the seating plan. How many people, how many rows, how far from the screen and how high the back row needs to sit all shape the room before the projector or screen is chosen.

A stepped floor for two rows

In one cinema room we built, a timber platform lifts the back row so the people behind look over the heads in front. It went in before the carpet, with LED lighting along the edge of each step so nobody misses their footing while the film is on. Nine recliners sit across the two levels.

See how the room was built, from the timber frame to the finished seats.

Home cinemas across Galway

Many Galway homes are large one off houses and coastal properties with space for a dedicated cinema. In east Galway, Ballinasloe has period townhouses with large rural homes nearby, and around Tuam in the north of the county there are family homes and one off houses across the countryside. Galway is covered by our own engineers, from survey to support.

Planning the seats and screen

  • A seating plan that sets the number of rows and the size of the screen
  • A stepped floor or platform where the room has the height for it
  • Projection for a big picture, or a large TV in a media room
  • Speakers placed for the seats, behind acoustic fabric or in the ceiling
  • Step and aisle lighting tied into lighting control

Questions we are often asked

How far should the seats be from the screen?

It depends on the size of the screen and the picture quality. We work it out from your room measurements, so the screen fills your view without you having to turn your head.

Do we need a stepped floor?

Only if you have a second row. A single row can sit on the floor, but a back row needs lifting so it can see over the front.

Do you cover all of Co. Galway?

Yes, including Tuam, Ballinasloe, Salthill, Oranmore and the rest of the county.
