Shure IntelliMix Bar Pro Now Shipping: What It Means for Dublin and Cork Meeting Rooms

Meeting room with a team around a table and a Shure IntelliMix Bar Pro mounted below two wall displays, with the touch panel on the table, as used in Dublin and Cork Teams Rooms

The Shure IntelliMix Bar Pro, an Android video bar and touch panel certified for Microsoft Teams Rooms in medium and large spaces, is now shipping, Installation International reported on 30 September 2026. Offices in Dublin and Cork that are replacing tired meeting room kit now have another certified device to weigh up, and its Microsoft certification dates are already published.

Shure IntelliMix Bar Pro: the news in brief

In a release dated 29 September 2026, Shure announced general availability of the product, which it first revealed in January ahead of the ISE trade show in Barcelona. Installation International reported the next day that Shure had begun shipping it, and the trade title's write up is the clearest summary we have read (read the Installation International article). AV Interactive, the website of AV Magazine, carried it on 1 October 2026 under the headline "Shure ships IntelliMix Bar Pro for medium and large spaces".

In short, it is one device that handles the cameras, microphones, loudspeakers and Teams compute, with a separate touch panel. Shure sells the pair as a kit under the model name IMXBPK.

Why the Android platform matters for a refresh

Some rooms installed in recent years may be on devices whose software support is running out. That is why the platform underneath a new device is worth as much attention as the camera.

Shure says the bar is built on Microsoft Device Ecosystem Platform, known as MDEP, which Installation International describes as Microsoft's Android based platform for enterprise collaboration devices. Shure says the bar is designed for enterprise environments where security and long term stability are essential.

The figures that an owner can actually plan around are on Microsoft's certified Teams Rooms on Android list. There, the bar appears as the IntelliMix Bar Pro IMXBP and the touch panel as the IntelliMix Touch Panel IMXTP10. Both are listed on Android 13, and both carry a current certification end date of 15 August 2028. Microsoft says device makers work to extend such dates by upgrading the Android version and recertifying, so check the list again before you buy. We covered what happens when older Android devices fall off that list in our Teams Rooms on Android audit guide.

Hardware and management, as Shure describes it

Video. Shure's January launch release says four 4K cameras give a combined 135 degree wide angle view, and its IntelliMix View software frames the room automatically and highlights whoever is talking. According to Installation International, the system is designed to pick up people sitting near the display as well as those at the far end of the table.

Sound. Shure uses its Microflex Advance array microphones in the bar, paired with stereo loudspeakers. Onboard processing is meant to minimise background noise and isolate voices, which Shure links to more accurate meeting transcripts and Copilot summaries.

Room size. Microsoft lists the bar for a medium room of 4.5 m x 6 m and a large meeting room of 4.5 m x 8.5 m.

Setup and management. Shure's product page mentions zero touch provisioning for deployment. After that, the company says IT staff can manage and update the system remotely through ShureCloud, and that it supports Microsoft's Pro Management Portal and ServiceNow.

What we could not confirm: we found nothing in Shure's material on Zoom Rooms or a USB mode for laptops, and while the product page shows Shure's MXA901 and MXA902 ceiling arrays as related products, it does not say whether they extend the bar. If any of those points matter to you, get them confirmed before ordering.

An owner's checklist before replacing room kit

Whether you run a single floor in a Dublin office block or several sites across Cork and the regions, these are the questions we suggest working through before you choose any bar, this one included:

  • Room dimensions: measure each room and compare it with Microsoft's medium and large figures. A room much longer than 8.5 m may need a different design.
  • Current devices: note the make, model and Android version of every Teams Rooms device you own, and check its certification end date.
  • Display wall: confirm the wall can take the bar's mounting, and that there is power and a network point behind the screen.
  • Table cabling: plan how the touch panel will be connected and whether the table has a cable route.
  • Acoustics: look for glass, bare plaster and noisy ventilation. A bar listens from one end of the room, so hard surfaces matter.
  • Who manages it: decide whether your IT team, a support partner or both will watch ShureCloud and the Pro Management Portal.
  • Other platforms: if staff also use Zoom or need to plug in a laptop, put that requirement in writing to the supplier.

How it might suit offices in Dublin and Cork

Plenty of local offices sit in converted Georgian buildings, older quayside stock or new grade A blocks, and each brings its own constraints. Protected structures and period ceilings can make it awkward to fit ceiling microphones, so a single device at the screen may appeal there. Open plan floors with glazed meeting rooms bring echo and noise from outside, which is a reason to test any front of room microphone before committing to a whole floor.

For a company standardising rooms across both cities, one certified bar and panel per room is a simpler support model than several different designs. A pilot room in each office is a sensible way to find out how it handles your own layouts before a wider rollout.

Questions we are often asked

When did the IntelliMix Bar Pro start shipping?

Shure's press release announcing general availability is dated 29 September 2026. It had been announced in January 2026.

How long will Microsoft support it for Teams Rooms?

Microsoft's certified list shows a current certification end date of 15 August 2028 for both the bar and the IMXTP10 touch panel, on Android 13. That date may be extended, so check the list when you plan.

What is MDEP?

Microsoft Device Ecosystem Platform is described by Installation International as Microsoft's Android based platform for enterprise collaboration devices. Shure says the bar is built on it.

Does it work with Zoom?

We did not find Zoom support confirmed in the Shure material we read. The certification we could verify is for Microsoft Teams Rooms on Android, so ask Shure or your supplier if you need Zoom.

Will it fit our largest boardroom?

Microsoft lists it for a large meeting room of 4.5 m x 8.5 m. For anything bigger or unusually shaped, a ceiling microphone and separate camera design may work better, and a site survey will tell you.

Can 1Install help us choose?

Yes. 1Install designs, supplies and installs meeting rooms, Teams Rooms and video conferencing systems, and we can survey your rooms and compare options with you.
