Q-SYS Teams Rooms for Larger Spaces: The Certified RoomSuite Modular System in Cork

Q-SYS Teams Rooms modular kit: black RMP-100 room processor and QIO-VEN4 network AV expander, a laptop showing the RoomSuite Manager screen, and a pendant loudspeaker and camera behind

The Q-SYS RoomSuite Modular System, a packaged kit built around the RMP-100 room processor, is now certified for Microsoft Teams, QSC announced on 21 October 2026, together with the NC-90-G2 camera and the RoomSuite Collaboration Bar. It gives Q-SYS Teams Rooms a certified option for medium and large rooms in Cork that need ceiling or table microphones, more than one camera or two screens, without the custom programming of a full Q-SYS Core design.

  • QSC announced Microsoft Teams certification for the Q-SYS RoomSuite Modular System on 21 October 2026.
  • The certification covers the system with Q-SYS NL Series loudspeakers, the NM-T1 table microphone or a Teams certified partner Dante ceiling microphone, and NC-12x80, NC-20x60 or NC-90-G2 cameras.
  • QSC says the modular system with the NC-90-G2 camera enables Active Speaker Framing in Teams Rooms.
  • QSC's product page lists up to two cameras, four microphones, four ceiling or pendant speakers and two touch controllers per system.
  • Rooms are set up in QSC's web based RoomSuite Manager and monitored through Q-SYS Reflect.

The Q-SYS Teams Rooms certification in brief

In its announcement of 21 October 2026, QSC said its Teams certified range now covers medium and large spaces, high impact spaces and all the spaces in between. QSC's marketing vice president described three routes for customers: a room system built on a Q-SYS Core, the modular system and a Windows bar. This post is about the middle route, because it is the one most relevant to the larger rooms we see in Cork offices, colleges and hotels.

What makes up the RoomSuite Modular System

According to QSC's RoomSuite Modular System page, the kit is built from these parts.

  • RMP-100 processor. Handles audio processing, networking, video distribution and display control. It has seven PoE+ network ports for room devices, two HDMI inputs and two HDMI outputs (4K60 in bring your own meeting mode), RS-232 and USB-C.
  • QIO-VEN4 expander. Powered from the RMP-100, it adds an HDMI input with a scaler, four more PoE+ ports and a USB-C input with DisplayPort.
  • Cameras. Up to two from the NC-90-G2, NC-12x80 and NC-20x60.
  • Loudspeakers. Up to four NL-C4 ceiling or NL-P4 pendant speakers, or up to two NL-SB42 soundbars.
  • Microphones. Up to four in total, depending on model, from the Q-SYS NM-T1 or supported third party Dante ceiling microphones.
  • Touch controllers. Up to two, the TSC-101-G3 or TSC-70-G3.

QSC describes the setup as no code: RoomSuite Manager in a web browser finds the devices, sets up video, tunes the room audio and builds the touch panel screens automatically.

Why the NC-90-G2 camera matters

The NC-90-G2 is a fixed lens network camera with a 90 degree view and a 20 megapixel sensor. QSC's page says onboard microphones tell it where the talker is, so it can digitally frame that person, and it recommends a maximum subject distance of 7.9 metres. Video, power and control travel over one network cable. Paired with the modular system, QSC says the camera enables Active Speaker Framing inside Teams Rooms, so remote attendees see a close shot of whoever is speaking.

Which Cork rooms it suits

Cork has plenty of rooms that are too big for a single bar on the wall: boardrooms in the city centre and at Mahon, training rooms in technology and pharmaceutical firms around the harbour and in Ringaskiddy, and seminar rooms in colleges. These rooms tend to share three needs.

Even audio across a long table. Ceiling speakers and Dante ceiling microphones spread sound and pickup across the room, rather than relying on the front wall.

A second camera or a second screen. The RMP-100 supports two of each, so content and far end video can sit side by side.

A clean table. With ceiling microphones and a single touch panel, the table can stay clear for papers and laptops.

A room that needs a divisible wall, a lectern, assistive listening or complex control usually goes beyond the modular kit to a Q-SYS Core design. The certified Collaboration Bar from the same announcement covers smaller rooms.

Planning a modular Q-SYS room

  1. Measure the room. Seats, table shape, ceiling height and type all decide speaker and microphone positions.
  2. Choose the cameras. The NC-90-G2 for framing the talker; QSC also lists the NC-12x80 and NC-20x60 for the system.
  3. Design the network. The RMP-100 powers devices from its own ports, but it still needs a link to your network for Teams, Reflect and management.
  4. Pick the Teams Rooms compute. QSC's page does not name the Teams Rooms computer that pairs with the kit, so confirm the full certified bill of materials with Microsoft's list and QSC before ordering.
  5. Plan support. Decide who watches Q-SYS Reflect, and whether Reflect Plus presets and bulk firmware updates are worth adding if you run several rooms.
