A nine bedroom house whose Crestron system was showing its age, renewed on the original wiring so the owner gained a modern system without starting again.
What the owner asked for
The owner knew the old system well and did not want to lose that familiarity. The brief was to keep what still worked, replace what did not, and add what a house of this size now needs: dependable Wi-Fi, streaming, music around the house and a proper cinema.
How we approached it
An audit told us which cabling and devices could stay, and reusing them kept the cost down. The work took fifteen weeks in four stages:
- Audit and planning, four weeks.
- Retrofit and new hardware, six weeks.
- Network and AV, three weeks.
- Final testing and training, two weeks.
What went in
- New Crestron hardware on the existing Crestron wiring, with compatible devices kept in service.
- Lighting, security, music and climate control brought together on one interface.
- An upgraded network with mesh Wi-Fi across the property.
- A Dolby Atmos cinema and music zones around the house.
- CCTV and access control tied into Crestron, working with the security specialists.
- Room to grow, so later additions and software updates slot in.
How it turned out
The house feels familiar to the owner but behaves like a new installation. Our engineers worked alongside the interior designers throughout, so the new equipment sits quietly in a house with landscaped gardens, a private cinema and several entertaining spaces.
