One Crestron system for a whole house: a cinema room, television in the living spaces, and lighting indoors and across the garden, all fed from a single equipment rack.
What the owners asked for
A single, simple way to run everything, in place of a separate control for each room. They also wanted a network strong enough to carry it all, and no equipment on show in a house finished to this standard.
What went in
- The rack: all the Crestron equipment lives in one rack, which we assembled, labelled and tested in our workshop before testing it again in the house. It has power protection and is laid out so an engineer can get at every part.
- The cinema room: a projector and a large fixed frame screen, installed and calibrated by our own engineers.
- Television: any source can be watched on any screen in the house.
- Lighting: the front of the house, the paths, the terraces and the trees each have their own scenes, and the outdoor lighting brings itself on at dusk.
- Handover: once it was programmed, we showed the family how to use the keypads, the touch screens and their phones.
How it turned out
The family uses the system every day because it is easy. The lights are right when they come home, the cinema is one press away, and after dark the house and garden look their best.
