The brief
With the house stripped back, this was the chance to do everything properly: every lighting circuit to a central lighting control system, heating controlled room by room, a network that reaches every corner, and technology that suits a beautiful period interior.
What we did
- Design first: full drawings and cable schedules, marked up with the client and the electrician before a cable was pulled.
- First fix cabling throughout the house, labelled and taken back to a central plant room.
- Centralised lighting control panels, with every module labelled so the system is easy to look after for years to come.
- Heating control with room thermostats, and touch screens in the main rooms.
- A structured network and equipment rack, built and tested on site.
- Lighting details that make the house: stair lanterns, lit shelves, step lights and bathroom lighting.
The result
The finished house looks entirely traditional, but every room has lighting scenes, comfortable heating and fast Wi-Fi, all managed from a tidy, documented plant room.
