What we collect
- Enquiries. When you use a contact form we collect your first and last name, email address, phone number, address details (street, city, Eircode), company name if you give one, the service you are interested in, your message and any file you choose to upload.
- Live chat. If you use the chat window we collect the messages you send, any name or contact details you give, and basic technical details about your visit that the chat service needs to work.
- Calls and project details. If you call us or become a client we keep notes of our conversations, your property address, the equipment we install, service visits and the information needed to quote, invoice and support your system.
- Technical information. Like most websites, our server records technical details such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. We use these to keep the site secure and working.
We do not knowingly collect information from children, and we do not ask for special category information (such as health details) through this website.
How and why we use it
- To answer your enquiry and prepare a quote. This is necessary to take steps you have asked for before entering into a contract, and is in our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.
- To carry out and support your project. This is necessary to perform our contract with you, including installation, programming, service visits and our client portal.
- To keep records we are required to keep, such as invoices and accounts. This is a legal obligation.
- To keep the website and our forms secure and to block spam. This is in our legitimate interests.
We will only send you marketing emails if you have asked us to or you are an existing client and have not opted out. You can opt out at any time.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where needed with:
- Zoho, which provides our customer records system, live chat and business email. Website enquiries are sent straight into our Zoho account, which is hosted in Zoho's EU data centre.
- Google reCAPTCHA, which may check form submissions for spam. Google receives technical information about your browser and device for this purpose.
- Google Analytics, which counts visits to the website if you accept cookies. Google receives technical information about your visit, such as pages viewed and browser type.
- Our website hosting provider, which stores the website and its server records.
- Trusted installers and suppliers who work on your project for us, only with the details they need to do that work.
- Professional advisers such as our accountants, and authorities where the law requires it.
Where a provider processes information outside the European Economic Area, we rely on European Commission adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses to protect it.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become a project: up to 2 years, so we can pick up the conversation if you come back to us.
- Client and project records: for as long as we support your system, and for 6 years after our last invoice to meet tax and accounting rules.
- Server records: a few months, unless we need them to investigate a security problem.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to ask for it in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent you can withdraw it at any time. To use any of these rights, send us a message or call us. We will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
